Just joined in hopes of finding some support

Hi ladies, I am new here, just joined looking for some support or others who are maybe like me. I have struggled with infertility for years now. The worst thing about it is I had two abortions when I was younger thinking that when the time was right I would be able to have children with the right person, the right way when I was well and able to. I had dated someone for three years, the relationship ended a year ago due to other reasons we could unfortunately just not get past. Even though we were having unprotected sex for much for the three years together, I didn't fall pregnant. I was told when I was about 23 (I am almost 32 now) that a blood test showed I may have ovulation issues. Fast forward to this year, I have been recently having some fertility tests done to find out what my issue is for sure for when I am ready to actively start trying to conceive. Progesterone test on day 25 showed I did in fact ovulate which is good news. Just had an HSG done last Thursday to check for tubal blockage and that showed my right tube is open, left tube is blocked. That was hard news to take but it still gives me a glimmer of hope. The only thing that is driving me crazy now is after 3 years of unprotected sex shouldn't I have ovulated from my right ovary at some point and my right tube is open, so I should have conceived...? It's all just so frustrating and worrisome. I just hope one day I will be able to live out my dream of being a mother. I hope at the very very least in vitro would be an option for me, if I can somehow find a way to afford that some day. I think I have spent the last 12 years of my life worrying about this... Just looking for non-judgmental ladies who are maybe in somewhat of the same position. Hope you all can find a reason to smile today!

Sending you lots of positive thoughts. I completely understand how you feel and I want to say to you.. what happened in the past (you are not being blamed for now by having to struggle). Its easy in this journey, this situation all of us ladies are in, to play the blame game on ourselves especially. Please try to be kind to yourself. Are they able to unblock the blocked tube at all?

I do not suffer in the same way as you but I am in this journey as well and have been for a few years. Some days are harder than others, keep fighting for your dreams. I have found this website to help and there are many wonderful ladies on here willing to lend an ear. If you need to chat, please message me. No one should feel judged and although all of our roads are different, we are still all struggling to achieve one common dream of being a mom.

Thank you for reaching out MissSattc, it's nice to hear those things from someone. I have tried to reach out to my family about it, but they just don't seem to see the severity in it. How heartbreaking it can be for a woman when one of the greatest joys of being a woman is potentially taken from us. In my case, especially when I had that opportunity before. It is nice groups like this exist, this is the first time I've ever joined anything like this. We are most definitely all in it together.

As far as my blocked tube, I wasn't given much information yet. I'm going to have to call my doctor Thursday since she is out of the office, the nurse is just reading me the notes she left for me. I'd like to know if it's partially or totally blocked, how it would have happened (since I've had no prior pelvic infections) etc. Its my regular gynecologist who ordered these tests for me so I'm thinking my next step is fertility specialist. I just didn't want to wait too long to find out what exactly is going on with me.

Thank you again so much for writing back, I am here for you as well if you ever need to message or talk to someone personally. It's hard BUT the one shining hope is we live in an amazing time where they can do many amazing things. It's not the end all be all anymore. I'm thankful for that (even though it may cost an arm and a leg). I guess the only thing to do is stay positive and get your thoughts out there so we don't go crazy with worry. Thank you again ❤️

I understand that.. sometimes families do as best as they can but I have found more comfort from strangers on a site that are going through the same then some close family and friends that I have. They support but dont always as you say see the severity in it.
Well keep me posted on the info if you would like to share, if not thats okay too, but we are all here should you need or want to share.
Agreed positivity is always good but sometimes I know its hard to find and thats where we all come in to pick one another back up :) good luck for thursday

Welcome, JaimeLynn786. I echo what MissSattc said; we all have different stories, but this we have in common in a way that oftentimes no one close to us does (fortunately for them). Family and friends provide great support and having that during this process is incredibly valuable, but they aren't living it and often can't really even imagine what it's like so even their best will not feel like enough at times. I appreciate them and certainly don't blame them for not understanding, but it makes groups like this so important because we can read each others' stories and see the common experiences and emotions. We're here for you. I wish you the very best and hope you get some answers soon.

I agree with confused with what she said after two attempts of ivf I kept blaming myself but I know it's just mother nature wasn't my time and strongly believe my third attempt will work you know that you have us all if you need to talk xx

Dear I'm so sorry for your situation. Don't blame yourself for those abortions. At that moment you thought it was right decision. Feeling guilty won't change anything. It will only make you feel even more stressed. I understand this situation is hard for you. You were trying for so long and nothing. But maybe it's good that you didn't get pregnant in those relationships. I think that at least you know about your problem now. So you can figure out what to do next. Speaking about ivf, there is lots of information in the intranet, including price lists. I'm sure you will be able to find something you can afford. I wish you best of luck!
