Infertility Support Group

This is my first time joining a support group. Something compelled me to join tonight. Probably the extreme sadness I feel that Aunt Flo has shown up again. I feel so weird mourning something I never had but every month is a silent struggle.
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for close to 3 years. When we got married we were so excited to start trying. We both had dreams of a big family. We didn’t realize how difficult, sad and frustrating this journey would be.
We were able to get pregnant last November (after 2 rounds of Letrazole) but suffered an early miscarriage. Our second miscarriage was this May. I had to have a D & C since I was further along. I still have our 8 week ultrasound pictures in my drawer and I look at them from time to time. Even now it’s so painful to talk about. It’s hard to hold back the tears.
As painful as these miscarriages were (and still are) I feel extremely blessed to have been able to conceive at all.
I was so distraught after the last miscarriage that I almost gave up on this whole journey but my amazing husband keeps me motivated with his love and support. We are going to a specialist in a couple of weeks to discuss our next options. I’m extremely nervous but trying to stay optimistic.
I know what you mean feeling blessed with having things to have happened despite the end results, and also feeling like you want to give up. I'm trying to learn that my fear around being pregnant again and also the unknown will never go away. It's just a fact I have to live with now, but I have to learn to be happy when I can despite all of this. It's an uphill battle every day. My husband is amazing, too, but sometimes it's hard when I look around at my family and friends and realize they will never actually understand how this feels for us. I miss my lost babies every day, and every day I feel this heaviness in my chest when I think about it and think how hard we have worked for it to all be ripped away in one breath.
