Just diagnosed, very sad

Hi everyone - so I haven't been able to get pregnant and after a recent surgery, discovered I have PCOS, endometriosis, and my right tube was removed. I'm feeling very overwhelmed with this news and have been crying a lot. I think I'm going through a grieving process right now. I've been very sad and break down crying out of no where.

The fertility specialist told my husband and I we now have to decide if we went to try naturally (although it does not sound likely that there is a chance this will work because of the PCOS) or IUI (and then eventually IVF.)

We're having a hard time deciding what to do next. I have limited knowledge of people who have gone through IUI, but of the people I know that have gone through it, it has been unsuccessful. Any positive experiences out there with IUI? We could use some hope :)

I'm not sure what you have decided on this. However it sounds like the problem isnt with sperm getting to the egg, but the egg being released. My friend did IUI 2 rounds and was pregnant with her daughter.

I have PCOS and get pregnant very easily however i miscarry (ive had 6). So our problem is with egg quality. Because I get pregnant they removed the IUI completely from the table. I know this may sound a bit full power, but I would skip IUI all together if you can, i have not seen many success stories with it either. Also, if your specialists has an IVF program I would try for that. Its more money up front but you can get your money back if it fails (with most IVF programs thats is)

I'm sorry to hear what you've been going through. I'm still grieving after my diagnosis of PCOS and our need to see a fertility specialist. I think letting go of a lot of the things I've pictured and dreamt about has broken my heart over and over again. I cry for all sorts of reasons, and for no reason at all.

I keep having to remind myself that at the end of all of this, when my husband and I are holding a beautiful baby we have made together, this will have all been worth it. It will all be part of a journey, and it will all be sweeter because of how hard it was.

My heart goes out to all of you. I too struggled with PCOS and infertility. After two years of TTC I was depressed and almost ready to give up.
