IVF with just two embryos

I went through IVF and had my ER a week ago today. 44 eggs, 34 mature, 20 fertilized, 12 day 3.............then just 2 were left on day 5 for freezing. I'm fairly devastated because financially and emotionally another round of IVF just wasnt something I considered. I'm waiting for PGD results to see if they're viable and it's going to be the longest two weeks.


If anyone has a success story with just two embryos via FET, I sure could use it right now. It seems very hopeless.

I don't have a personal success story, because I haven't gone through IVF yet, but just wanted to say here's hoping that those two embryos are strong and healthy and get you your baby! My clinic likes to only transfer one embryo if possible, so transferring two, or even one, may not mean your chances are less. Also, if it helps, I listened to a podcast last year called "IVFML," and the couple doing the podcast went through two separate rounds of treatment, and out of each, only got 1 embryo to freeze. They also did PGD because of recurrent miscarriages. Ultimately, just one embryo was transferred, and they got pregnant with a healthy baby! So there's a success story for you. You can get the podcast for free if you have an iPhone - maybe listening to it will help you pass the two weeks of waiting. I'm sure it will be so hard, but stay strong! Hi, I can't help with personal experiences, but two friends of my sis underwent IVF in Poland (Gdansk) and Czech Rep (Zlin) as it's much much cheaper Good luck with yr protocol xx

I’ve done IVF in Matamoros Mexico....Dr. Garza ... just across from Brownsville Tx. One round of IVF is 3 rounds there.

BHAlwaysTrying21 thank you so much for your post. It really helped on a bad day. I listened to the podcast and it gave me the hope I needed. We got our PGD results today and one of the two is genetically normal. I’m not worried about the odds because I have heard a real story like this now result in pregnancy and I’m hopeful. I will pray for you too. ❤️

My story thus far isn’t exactly the same, but I can tell you I’m feeling the same. We are in our only shot at IVF and they retrieved only 5 eggs last week. They all fertilized, but I’ll find out tomorrow if any are still viable. This being our only shot, I’m hoping there are 2 embryos left for implantation! Praying for you!
