Has anyone done IVF then switched back to IUI and had any success. IVF is expensive so I was wondering if anyone switched back to IUI. I have already had 3 failed IUIs and 1 failed IVF.

It might help if you explained your specific IF's issues. Sometimes IVF is the only option, sometimes IUI or IVF would work.

I have Pcos but was told its unexplained infertility most recently. I have no issues with my tubes and when I did the IVF this month all of my mature eggs fertlized. Just not sure where to go from here. IVF is so expensive so no idea what next step should be.

Hey, we did IVF in the fall. It was a success but miscarried at 8.5 weeks. We switched RE's and he suggested I have a lap since I had unexplained IF at the time. My lap was in Feb, he found a boat load of issues including endo and a septum. So now we are back to IUIs. I am 1/2 way through my 2ww of the first IUI. Will let you know in a week if it worked or not.

Have you had a lap done? I would suggest having that first before going back to IUIs just to rule out things not seen on any other test.

I agree with LMWT: It sounds like many of the cursory tests they do, like pelvic ultrasounds and hysterosalpingograms, seem to miss endo and other issues that ladies on here have later found to be causing their infertility. Might be worth exploring, if you haven't. Also, do you have any male factor issues? Our infertility is male factor: DH has lazy sperm that don't swim. So, all IUI would do is plunk them a bit further up in the uterus, but they'd still never get to the egg sitting in the tubes. IVF with ICSI is the only way we can get the two bits together. Believe me, I wish we could just pay for IUIs! Were you able to freeze some embryos from your last IVF? In many cases, a frozen transfer is far cheaper than fresh.

We are using donor sperm so not a issue with the sperm. What is a lap I know they didn't do one but wanted to know so I can ask. Thanks
