It is going to be totally your decision; however, I did 6 cycles of IUI and then had to do IVF anyway. The way I see it, if anything is going to work, IVF will and since you can receive it as part of a trial, I would. It is sad to think of it in dollars and cents but IVF will work why keep trying something that may.....

If I were you I would totally do it! I work for a physician and we do clinical trials all the time. Iam all for it. Also your getting the actual IVF at a discounted rate, which is wonderful! You also have to keep in mind it may take more then once. Good kuck too you.

I would go for it! My DH and I just had to take out a $20,000 loan to pay for our IVF and if I could have gotten it at a reduced rate, I would have been all for it.

I think it's great that you're doing the clinical trial. Let's hope you don't have to and you get your BFP from this cycle. good luck to you and baby dust.

I did a clinical trial where they paid for the entire cycle of IVF, and $2000 towards the FET if we had any embryos left, which we did. The application for the trial was horrendous...there were SOO many different criteria we had to meet. I don't really remember much of it at all, unfortunately. But I would guess all the trials are different. Mine was a new stim drug, and they didn't even tell me what it was called or how much they gave me. Don't lose hope, I did, but it happened ANYWAY!!!! It didn't work for me, but I have other issues maybe...we'll see. Good luck to you! Don't lose hope!!!

I just finished with that exact trial (Progesterone) that you are speaking of. You may want to contact your clinic asap as I am aware that spots have filled up quickly. B/c of my cycle, I was at the beginning of the study. The whole IVF process was no different when being involved in the study except for the fact that you have to keep this little journal regarding any symptoms and/or medications that you were on during the process. The study also requires a couple more blood tests and meetings with the nurses (your clinic will have appointed a "study nurse" to answer all of your questions and meet with you regularly). Considering they cover 3/4 of the cost of a normal IVF cycle, I thought that this was an excellent option for those of us with no IVF coverage (like me). I just finished my 2ww and first beta with a bfp...had second beta drawn today and am PRAYING that it doubles (will find out tomorrow since today is Sunday). If you have any questions/concerns about it, just give me a buzz and I'd be happy to answer anything I can.
All in all, I would say to go for it. It's not often that financial benefits such as this comes along with IF stuff!

It can't hurt anything to meet with them. If you don't think it is something you want to do then you can just tell them that.
During our first ER a woman came in about a new progesterone cream or something, sort of like a suppository. I was drugged and couldn't really follow what she was saying. But if it is something that can help you do a cycle and maybe even improve IVF success rates, then it could be a great thing.

Couldn't hurt to talk to them, find out what their using and do some research on your own too before you decide. But ulimately it seems like we're all lab rats with trying to finding the right combo for us whether isn't trial or not so what's the difference ;0)
