Hi Everyone.
It's been quite a while since I have posted here...but I have been following all of you as some have gotten really exciting news, while others continue to share in the struggle. After 2.5 years of trying, 7 months of Clomid/Femara cycles, 2 IUIs, and 1 surgery, we are moving on to IVF. It's a very big and scary decision for us. We had our consultation last week with our doctor, but the IVF nurse was out sick, so we will be meeting with her Tuesday of next week to discuss medicine protocols, but it sounds like I will be on a mix of Lupron, Bravera, and Menopur. Has anyone else used these medications? Is anyone else on this IVF schedule? Yesterday was Day 1. Here goes nothing (well, really everything!).

My husband and I felt the same way. IVF was a big decision, and something we really didn't think we would ever end up doing! Like you, we've been trying for about 2.5/3 yrs., but unlike you, we couldn't do IUIs or Clomid because I only have one tube, and the other one may not be patent. So, onto the IVF wagon we've jumped!
I'm currently on day 7, and taking Gonal-f & Menopur (just added in Ganerelix yesterday). The med I share in common with you (Menopur) is fine. I've had ZERO side effects, in fact I feel GREAT, the only annoying part is actually giving the injection. The needle is no big deal, but depressing the plunger is quite uncomfortable. I've found that pinching my skin and using my stomach as an injection site helps (rather than the upper, outer thigh), but it still hurts as the medicine goes in. But it's temporary. Once you're done, the pain is over. I hope, like me, you'll find the meds to be a pleasant surprise and not as big a deal as one might anticipate!
