What protocol are you on? The type of protocol will influence the length of injections. For the agonist protocol, I did 10 days of Lupron injections, then 10 days of stims (Puregon) and then the trigger shot. When I did the antagonist protocol, I had a natural start and did just 8 days of stims and then triggered, so it was much shorter.

Personally, I always did the injections in my stomach. I would rotate them though so I never injected in the same spot. Even when I multiple injections, I would do them in different spots - like one below the belly button on one side, one above etc...

I ended up freezing everything so I didn't have a transfer, but from what I understand afterwards, you should just be on progesterone and nothing more. Progesterone can be given as a shot or a vaginal suppository. If you're on the shot, and become pregnant, I've heard of them continuing it until you're 8 weeks along or so as the placenta then can take over the progesterone production, so you would no longer need supplementation.

Oral meds? Life what? I was on clomid with this IUI but when I did my IVF I didn't take any oral meds once I started stimming. For the agonist (long protocol), I took bcp for 3 weeks before I started the Lupron but stopped as soon as I started injectables. After my ER, they were worries about OHSS for me, so they put me on Letrozole (an oral med) plus Cetrotide for 2 weeks and then that was it.

The doxy is an antibiotic for post retrieval.....I'm not sure on estrodial.

I did the shorter protocol as well. I did all my shots in my stomach. I didn't like the idea of doing it my thigh. I was able to mix mine though so I only had to do 1 shot per night. I took the doxycycline as well before the egg transfer. I also took medrol and 1 other pill I can't remember the name of.

I was on doxycyclene (and so was my husband) right before the retrieval. It is just an antibiotic. As for my shots, I took them in my upper arm. Apparently the drugs absorb quicker from there than the stomach. During my first IVF cycle I took the stims for 10 days and then took the Lupron trigger. The secind cycle I stimmed for 11 days before I triggered.
Good Luck and try to stay relaxed. Make sure your husband is pampering you :) Research shows that IVF is more likely to work if your body is not stressed (as if that is possible :)
