I'm new on here but have been trying to conceive for 2 years. One year on our own the next year with 3 failed IUI'S. Now ready to move forward with IVF. However the cost is outrageous, so we started looking into IVF in Tijuana (30 miles from my home in San Diego). Turns out two cycles there is cheaper than one cycle at all the clinics we were looking at in California.
So we decided to get our passports and go and check the clinics out. Just received our passports and are eager to see the facilities and talk with the doctors about how they can help our family grow. Also consultation appointment is $60 verses $250 in US.
Has anyone looked into IVf in Mexico or had IVF done in Mexico?
Have you done research into the clinics? The thing that is scary is at least here we are familiar with some of the standards and regulations needed.. i'm nervous thinking about doing something so involved in a foreign place. Please let me know your thoughts and best of luck!
I've done it in Matamoros. Twice... it's way cheaper and you can probably do it 3 times for one time done in the US! My first time i had one embryo implementation and a positive pregnancy.... my happiness lasted exactly 21 weeks 1 day.... on 12/07/16...... i tried again in February and no luck.... going tomorrow for the 3rd time and I'm super excited!!! Praying this time I get a positive and a Baby!!!
So we visited our first IVF clinic and all was well. The facility was clean and the staff spoke good English. Which was one of our biggest fears, we sat and talked to the Dr. who would be helping us through our IVF journey.
He was nice, attentive, educated and asked me to get a few more test completed. He was able to answer all questions and reassure us we would get great treatment at a much lower price.
We will be visiting another clinic next weekend and hopefully we can come to a decision on which clinic will best fit our needs.

We have met doctors who are really rude and arrogant. One just wants to sell us egg donation. Two do not have a clue who they are doing and ignored the risk of OHSS. One just wanted us to sign up for big expensive contracts. It is ridiculous how many bad doctors there are out there.
But after all the search was worth it. I felt we are in really good hands now and the cost is still manageable.
