Hi All! I am new to the group and wanted to do a quick introduction.
My husband (35) and I (34) have been TTC for 4 years. We have been diagnosed with unexplained inferility. We have completed 3 rounds of Clomid without IUIs, 2 rounds of Clomid with IUIs, and 1 round of Femara with IUI, none of which have been successful. As we have zero infertility coverage with either of our insurances, we have been saving for the past couple of years to be able to start a round of IVF.
We have our first IVF consult with our RE who did 2 of our IUIs tomorrow! I am excited but also terrified! It's been awhile since we did any fertility treatments as we have been saving like crazy to be able to do IVF. I've been on birth control pills for the last year to control my painful cycles (related to cyst formation; no, I do not have PCOS, just random cysts that pop up from time to time) so I haven't had the heartbreaking realization my period has come again each month (Although, come on, don't we all think, well maybe I just happened to get pregnant while on birth control like all those other people even though we are clearly infertile?!).
We will have to pay $15,215 two weeks before our baseline appointment (all IVF fees, labs; excluding medications) and $2750 two weeks before our baseline appointment (PGS for up to ten embryos). I honestly cannot believe we finally got to this point where we have the money to be able to do this!
Please keep us in your thoughts tomorrow as we meet with our RE and get our "Let's go" date!
