I am starting an ivf transfer and I am curious if anyone has done this and confided in someone at their work place? I feel like I could use the support but my husband thinks I am broadcasting that I am trying to take leave (I know this is unfortunately the world we live in). Maybe I can find some support here? I am decaffinating myself and I am anxious, working full time and raising a 2 year old while my husband works out of the country. It is almost as if I have to push it out of my mind completely just to make it. I have close coworkers and I think I can trust at least one of them not to talk about this. I just don’t know what to do.

I think you should definitely talk to your co-worker, if you feel you can trust them then it would be great to have someone provide you that support. We spend so much time at work that it's important to have someone to talk to. I'm starting my first IVF cycle in a couple of days and I've told some people at work. I waited until just very recently when it was actually for sure that we would be starting very soon, at first I worried about people reactions and didn't want people to know because it felt strange but it doesnt matter what other people think and if you get support then thats great.

I also think you should talk to your co-worker you trust most. I, myself is getting ready to do an ICSI (Intracytoplasmic sperm injection) cycle in November. Most of my co-worker knows about it but I have one trusted-coworker who know more details about my thought process. My husband's family are all very supportive but I worried what my parents would think about it. It sounds cruel that I haven't talked to my own mom about it but I feel anxious and stress at this point that it is very overwhelming.

I hope you find comfort by talking out your feelings to your coworker or to anyone you can trust.

If the coworker is sure to be trusted, it feels like a bit of relief to know that someone there knows what you’re dealing with every day. I had to come clean to my boss, since all the appointments needed to be worked around, and it turns out she had gone through fertility treatments previously. It was SUCH a load off my chest, and now there’s someone to vent to. Good luck!

Thank you all for your time and comments. I told my coworker and it has been nothing but helpful. Tonight I found out that it didn’t work. I either had a chemical pregnancy or had one and lost it as my levels went up then down. I am crushed
