Well, my 6th and final IUI didn't work.  I feel both numb and very sad.  I tried to be so positive this time that everything would work out, but of course, that changed nothing.  Before I even tested this morning, I felt like it was just going to be pointless and a let down, but there was a brief window of time last night that I thought it might actually be positive.  And to add insult to injury, I dreamed last night of a positive test.  Now I'll have to go back on birth control and wait to start IVF, but I really don't feel like I can process that right now.  I'm not ready to look forward yet and need to get through the grief; at the same time, if I want to look into other clinics and not just go with my current one where things haven't been working out (not saying it's their fault), I have to kick things into gear.  Going to work this morning and acting like everything is fine is going to be so tough.  Especially as I wonder whether I'll need to tell colleagues about IVF closer to when it starts.  For those of you who have done IVF, did you inform your boss or others at work?  I feel like, if you're lucky and you have a flexible job, you might be able to get away with it.  On the other hand, if your body has a bad reaction or if you don't have flexibility and a lot of appointments, then you need to say something.  For anyone who has handled it, I'd be happy to know what you did.  I work with mostly men, which makes it feel even more uncomfortable...  Any suggested distractions from the sadness would be appreciated as well.
