I am having my first IUI this month and I was juat curious if it was true that IUIs give you mostly boys? My doctor told me that they do.Just curious to see if that is true. Thanks and wish me luck :) PS Good luck to all you women I always am praying we get our wish of motherhood one day :)

That is what I heard as well because the sperm that carries the male genes tends to swim faster and thus will get to the egg faster for fertilization.

Yes, this is true. I posted something similar several months ago and did get replies from women who had girls so you just never know. theletter12 is correct, the male sperm swim faster so when you do things exactly at ovulation they beat the girl sperms to the eggs. For fertile people who have no trouble getting pregnant, if they want a girl they tell you to bd before you ovulate so the girl sperms will already be there waiting and don't have to beat out the boy sperms! If only things were so easy for us! :) Good luck with your first IUI!

I belong to another board and we all use frozen donor sperm and do IUI's. I was the only one out of 10 women who was pregnant with a boy. I have always heard that IUI's make more boys but I really think you get what you get!!!! Good luck!!!!

I had IUI last May and have a little girl - however I've heard that IUI does result in a slightly higher percentage of boys. Good luck!

I've heard the same thing, but could never verify if it was true. I'm 20 weeks along thanks to IUI and it's definitely a boy...

I got pregnant with IUI and it was a girl. I heard that although the male sperm swims faster, the female sperm are stronger. LOL

Is was so good to read all the posts on here. I too am going through my first IUI this month and it also put a smile on my face to read all the success stories. I HOPE, I HOPE, I HOPE that will be us this month!!!! Think BFP during the procudure and I too don't really care what gender I get just as long as I get a healthy baby out of this!!! ( My husband really wants a boy!) We'll see! :o)
