Hi girls! Sorry for being inactive for such a long time. So many things happened... I don't even know where to start! First of all, we finally decided to go for surrogacy! It was a very hard decision but it was our last and only option if we wanted to become parents. We used a Ukrainian clinic and everything seemed to be great, but the pandemic happened. Our sweet girl arrived on 21/05 at 9:55 AM. She's 8 lbs 9 oz. We have her picture and she's the most beautiful baby in the whole world! Now we're waiting for permission from the embassy to go to Ukraine and take our baby home with us. I've been beating myself up about this entire thing! I'm so nervous, I can't sleep! Not only I'm frustrated because I couldn't even go there for childbirth and I can't be with my dd right now, but also I don't know what's going to happen. As far as I know, there are approximately 70 babies, or even more (only from surrogate mothers of our clinic), who are waiting for their parents. So we're not the only ones in this terrible situation! I just hope this nightmare will end soon. I've been struggling for years and it seemed that finally, everything should be just like we wanted it to be, but this virus destroyed my perfect journey...

congrats! You do not need to worry, BBC showed the episode about babies in Ukraine who are waiting for their parents, and I must say the care is excellent. x

I'm so happy you're a mom! My congratulations, dear! I've gone through surrogacy myself, but I can't even imagine how you feel right now. I'm sorry the current situation prevented you from being at childbirth and seeing your little one. I know that feeling of excitement when you're waiting for due date and getting ready to hold your baby in your arms... Even though the care is excellent as @fffFFF said, you're nervous and want "this nightmare" to end. I wish you to be strong! I hope you'll see your daughter very soon!

My congratulations to you, @dellytm! There are probably no words I can say to make you feel better, but... I wish you to be strong and hope for the best! The quarantine is shutting down. So I believe, the boarders will be open soon. I've seen some videos on youtube about the babies, who are stuck in Ukraine. Of course, the situation is not the best one, but it seems the babies are cared about. More and more parents get permission to get in Ukraine and take their children home. Good luck with the permission and I wish you to see your baby asap!

So sorry to hear about your situation! I understand it makes you nervous, but keep in mind you'll see your baby in a couple of weeks! My congrats, btw! Do you have a name for her? Wish you best of luck xx

I'm sorry to hear about the complications you've faced during your journey. I hope you'll see your baby very soon! My journey was also destroyed, though it hasn't even started yet( I was planning to have de ivf this months, but it was canceled bc of the pandemic... I'm just so heartbroken! Anyway, congratulations to you! I wish you good luck with documents and meeting your little one!

I was hoping to start my surrogacy journey in Ukraine too. It didn't happen as we decided to reschedule our journey to 2020. And then the pandemic started. I'm so mad at myself! I just wish we've started surrogacy last year! Now I have to wait again(

Girls, thanks a lot for your replies! I'm happy to see this group is still alive) We still have no news from the embassy. I can't wait to get this stupid permission! I just hope it won't take the whole eternity to get it!

@Josey09 thanks! Honey, I don't want to seem rude or anything, but maybe this is for the best! As soon as the pandemic is over, and I believe it will happen very soon, you'll be able to start your journey and enjoy it! Have you seen how many babies are just stuck in a hotel room without moms and dads? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPdRx_L96C0&t=159s Yes, they are taken care of, but this's not the same as if they were with their parents! I'm literally going crazy now!!! I feel so helpless because I can do nothing! I just have to wait and pray my girl is okay! I can't eat, I can't sleep, all my thoughts are about her. So please, hang in there and don't beat yourself up!
