I really like P!nk and she's such a badass. Her song 18 wheeler gets played in my car all the time, and I always feel better after screaming it on repeat for awhile :-)
Of course, I have to go with Josh Groban's Brave. Besides the fact that he's my favorite (concert this Monday in Boston!!) and I used one of his songs for my wedding...it has great lyrics and an uplifting rhythm.
Let's all stay BRAVE and someday we'll be given our reason!
Josh Groban Brave Lyrics
Wake up, wake up, the sun cannot wait for long.
Reach out, reach out before it fades away.
You will find the warmth when you surrender.
Smile into the fear and let it play.
Chorus:
You wanna run away, run away and you say that it cant be so.
You wanna look away, look away but you stay cause its all so close.
When you stand up and hold out your hand.
In the face of what I dont understand.
My reason to be brave.
Hold on, hold on, so strong, time just carries on.
And all that you thought was wrong is pure again.
You cant hide forever from the thunder.
Look into the storm and feel the rain.
Chorus:
You wanna run away, run away and you say that it cant be so.
You wanna look away, look away but you stay cause its all so close.
When you stand u and hold out your hand.
In the face of what I dont understand.
My reason to be brave.
O-oh-oh-oh-oh
O-oh-oh-oh-oh
O-oh-oh-oh-oh
Go on, go on
Chorus:
You wanna run away, run away and you say that it cant be so.
You wanna look away, look away but you stay cause its all so close.
When you stand up and hold out your hand.
In the face of what I dont understand.
My reason to be brave.

It's impossible not to smile when singing it too!
18 wheeler is a great song Nellysgirl, I loooooove P!nk too.
Another good one is I knew I loved you before I met you! by Savage Garden.
In particular, these lyrics:
"Feeling my way through the darkness
Guided by a beating heart
I can't tell where the journey will end
But I know where to start"
and
"So wake me up when it's all over
When I'm wiser and I'm older
All this time I was finding myself
And I didn't know I was lost"
"I tried carrying the weight of the world
But I only have two hands...................
"Not afraid to close my eyes
Life's a game made for everyone
And love is the prize"
This song reminds me that we don't know where our journeys are taking us. And that everyone is on their own journey....dealing with something. And that there is wisdom to be gained even in the most painful of journeys. That is how I have felt with my two pregnancy losses in the past year.
And sometimes I do feel like "wake me up when it's all over"
And other times I do want to open my eyes to the gifts that are happening along the way.
Even though they may not be the gifts that I had intended to receive.
And that all along I didn't realize I was lost in some ways.
Until these gifts (greater compassion, understanding, love, etc.) came to me...and I couldn't have received them without going through the painful journey I've been on.
They couldn't have happened any other way. Not at this intensity.

I am sure of that!

Nedico--I'm sorry you're going through this....but it is nice to be able to connect on a song. And sometimes these lyrics can be sort of therapeutic.
Winter Song (Sarah Bereilles) was something I listened to in the weeks of my impending loss last fall/winter because some lyrics struck a chord in me. I was actually at a Winter Wonderland performance and that was one of the songs. That was the first time I heard it. I was still pregnant but a loss was predicted by the dr. I was waiting for a natural miscarriage to happen.
That song will forever make me cry.
And "Daylight" (Maroon 5) is a song that I sang and danced to when alone in my house as a way to try to help me emotionally let go of my little lost one.
I find that sometimes over-indulging in these songs can make me sadder....but when used in moderation :) they give words to what I'm feeling.
