Hi there... I am so sorry that you are dealing with all of this. It is so unfair that something that happens so easily and naturally for so many people is so hard for some of us. I know it is hard, but try to focus on the positive of what you do know about your condition. It takes a lot of women several years before they can even figure out what is causing their infertility- I was 33 by the time I figured out what was wrong with me and by that time it was too late for my eggs. You have the advantage of age and knowledge on your side. It is very scary, but now is the time to make a game plan on how to attack this. For a long time I was also scared of the disappointment that might come, but then I realized that I was even more scared of the regret I would feel if I had never tried. It is so hard bc we have such a limited number of years to have children and once that time frame closes, we can't go back. Right now you have plenty of good child bearing years ahead of you and you have time on your side to come up with a realistic plan to work for you. I know a lot of PCOS patients use medical intervention and it might be comforting to you to at least start collecting information to see what you are really up against and what dr's recommendations for you would be. It all might not feel so overwhelming if you start taking it one step at a time. I hope that you are feeling better and I am wishing the best for you:)

Hi AmongTheWillows. I am 24 years old and was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 15. Very similar situation to yours. My husband and I have been trying for over a year now. I think it can be difficult for younger women to deal with infertility issues because we continually hear, "You have so much time!" Which is true and is wonderful, don't get me wrong! But, it does not make infertility any easier to deal with on a day to day basis.
I would urge you to cast your worries aside for now the best you can until you actually begin infertility treatments. (And even then, worrying does not help our situations.) If your doctor is already saying that you don't have much of a chance even before starting treatment, then I would urge you to see someone else. Unless you are without a uterus, there are options out there for you. Whether it is something as simple as ovulation induction and timed intercourse or you needing IVF. Find the right doctor that is encouraging to you and your husband and gives you hope for the future! It makes all the difference!
