Try not to worry. Everybody has these fears before a treatment - it is completely natural. But I do understand how hard it is. I suppose what you have to consider is whether if you back out now, you will regret NOT having given it a try. I was having similar doubts about doing treatment, but then realised I would always be wondering whether it would have made a difference. I would rather try and fail than not try at all.

Hormones can make things seem a lot worse than they are too - that's another thing that everybody on here understands!

Perhaps once you start the treatment you will feel more as though you are taking control of this whole IF thing - that's how it made me feel anyway. And then you'll start feeling a bit better. Yes, there is the risk that it will fail, but there's also the chance that it will succeed. I wish you all the luck in the world, and if you ever need to talk about your fears or get anything out of your system, just come on here! It's helped me loads.

I'm praying for you. This is not an easy road & the hormonal changes don't make it any easier. You can only do what your comfortable with...just try to stay positive. Good luck!

Your feelings are completely normal. I have the same fears and we are in the middle of our 3rd IVF. I believe most women (men too) have the same fears even when they get pregnant the natural way. The extra hormones may not be as bad as you are thinking. I can tell they are in me this cycyle more then my last two, but it is nothing I can not get through, and I am sure you can do it too.

We are all here for you to help you through those hard times (we are here for the good times too) Instead of snapping at other people, you can vent to us.

I can't tell you what to do, but it would be sad if you let fear get in the way of something you want. The best way to get over your fears is to go through them. Walk, crawl, what ever way you need to and we will be there with you. You will be so much stronger when you come out the other side of it.

My experience with hormones was a little out of the ordinary, so maybe it will give you some hope. I have always gotten WICKED PMS....we're talking - scary, homicidal rage. Also recently I started getting that way around ovulation time too. I was like a walking time bomb. HOWEVER, the hormone injections actually leveled out my mood completely. Both times I was on the injectables, my mood was stable and I was relatively happy. It's when I'm OFF the hormones that I'm dangerous apparently. So, it doesn't affect everyone the same way. Your apprehension is completely understandable. You will know when it feels right - follow your heart!

I'm scared of IVF too - just all the needles and shots and how to juggle it all with work. I am trying a few more IUI's and then if those fail, I'll be feeling the same way you do right now - just scared and tired. BUT, all the ladies on here are so helpful. So many of them have gotten through IVF and so many have been successful, so I feel like I will always wonder "what if" if I don't give it a try. If you aren't ready this cycle, maybe reschedule until you feel good about it since it is a lot of time and $$ involved. Hang in there!

Everything you are saying is exaclty how I felt before our IVF cycle. I was terrified about the hormones, about hwo I was going to feel but especially if it was going to work etc. I think what you are feeling is very normal. We are here if you need to talk or vent.

i am so sorry you are going thru this. i went thru the EXACT same thing and the same fears. but, i did it and i am still here. i am not pg yet but i know that these drugs are not going to hurt me. i've been on 3 rounds and getting ready for my 4th. you will be ok, i promise.

I know exactly how you feel. I should be starting my first IVF within the next couple of months. I'm terrified, excited, nervous any feeling I could possibly have. I also think they way you do about if it doesn't work, will I have a misscarriage. It goes through my head everyday. But then I stop and pray to God that all my negative feelings go away and things will be fine.

I'm prying for you so you can have your bundle of joy. Lots of baby dust.

thank you for all of your encouragement. you are all right as i have never thought of how i would feel if i did not go through with it at all and i would feel even more guilty that i did not go through with at all so i think that i am going to press on and go through with it.
