How much time off work did you take?

First of all, thank you for all your inspiring posts!

I'm curious how much time did you take off of work for IVF? and how did you tell you employer?

My case is Male Factor and it feels a bit odd since I'm okay, but still need the same process.

Hey! First off, I just wanted to wish you good luck with your upcoming IVF cycle. With my cycle I had to take off a half a day for when I went in for my IVF consent and TOT & SIS. I ended up having to go in for u/s and b/w monitoring 6 times, which was always in the morning at 8 and only had to take about an hour off each time for those. I also had to take 2 hours off for injection training. I took the day of my retrieval off and luckily I had my transfer over the Thanksgiving Break so I didn't need to take off for that, but they usually suggest you relax for 2-3 days for that. I think most people are able to go in to work a day or 2 after transfer as long as work is not too physically demanding. I ended up taking about 3 days all together.

I told my principal right after my IVF consult appointment. I let her know how much time I would most likely need to take off and about the monitoring appointments I would need to go to sometime at a short notice. She was very understanding about it. When I went to my appointments I would usually get a medical note to keep for my files just because I was having to go in so much for appointments and wanted to have the excuses just in case there were any questions.
