What are your thoughts as to the relation? I ask because I am in the 2WW and am looking around my house in a panic as I am trying to finish decorating and cleaning and I am not done shopping, I am working full time and I have 30 people coming for dinner on Christmas Eve. My theory, and I of course want to keep it positive, is that all of these outside focuses will keep me from obsessing about every cramp or twinge but I am still full of mommy desire so I seem to fit in those thoughts too.

I hope I don't sounds whiney because that is not my intent but I just wondered, if the pioneer women could get pregnant while hauling all their possessions across the country in a covered wagon while being chased bt Indians, we can still get pregnant while making placecards and hanging lights, right?

I hope you are all enjoying this season and that all of our Christmas wishes come true!!

Everytime you get glitter on you from one of your ornaments, that is baby dust and even when you don't, it is snowing upon us!!

I've often wondered the same thing. I've seen women in some of the most stressful situations get pregnant without a hitch.

How many times have you seen or heard of women who smoked or drank or did drugs or had poor health or who were living dangerous lifestyles, etc. get pregnant without a hitch. It's a big mystery to me.

So I say - enjoy every minute of the holidays (even the stressful part), do what you normally do, and cherish the fact that you will have 30 people in your home on Christmas Eve you love you. I don't even know 30 people :-)

I also wonder about the stress and how it effects us. I agree with titlhwp though. Women get pg in very stressful environments and situations.

LOL, that is so funny about the covered wagon thing! I bat myself up after our 3rd IVF because we had a yard sale and I was getting up at 5 in the morning and hauling crap out of our garages...but on our 4th one, I took time off before ER, I got massages, acupuncture. I even spent a week on bed rest. And NOTHING!
So, when it's time, it's time and I believe that.
Now, I'm going to rub ornaments all over my body with the shades drawn...

I had a m/c and a stillborn. I spoke to my OB and she said that stress by itself does not affect fertility or reduce the chances of a positive outcome in pregnancy. However,it has to do with how you, as an individual, handle a stressful situation. For example--------When I get stressed out my blood pressure and heart rate increase dramatically. This can deplete your blood cells of oxygen. Obviously this is bad. If you are pregnant then you may be depleting the baby of oxygen increasing the risk of fetal demise. The point---------try to reduce stress as much as possible. Make sure you find things that can help relieve stress such as exercise,meditation anything that makes you feel good. I don't get physical symptoms from stress, just when I look at all of it, I kind of wonder... but I know that I am doing a lot to try to distract myself from the fact that this is the first Christmas without my dad.

Anyway, thanks for posting. I really appreciate it. And the ornament glitter rub behind closed drapes made me laugh out loud!!
