Have you considered doing IVF with PGS testing? I had a very low AMH level and they were very concerned about viable eggs. I don't know what my FSH level was, but my AMH was .2, which is basically nothing left. I did IVF with PGS testing, got several healthy eggs (several that weren't too). I now have a daughter and I am pregnant again. I had my daughter at 34.

I'd definitely recommend getting a second opinion and running new bloodwork, just to make sure the first test was accurate. While it's probably not super likely, there can certainly be lab error, especially if you have a number that's a real outlier. Might as well double check, and get another opinion, before just accepting that your eggs are viable. Also, if the doctor things you could potentially get pregnant naturally, how could she at the same time say that your eggs aren't viable and fertility treatment couldn't help you? That just doesn't make sense to me. If there's any chance you could get pregnant naturally, I would think there is some fertility treatment that could help you as well. Best of luck!

A second opinion wouldn’t hurt but chances are the lab work is correct. I too was diagnosed with premature ovarian dysfunction. My doctor said there is always still a chance I can conceive naturally but the odds are extremely low. My husband & I decided to try IVF once which resulted in 1 immature egg retrieved. Looked like my doctor was correct. So here we are with 7 wonderful 5 day blasts from an anonymous donor. We had one implanted in November & unfortunately just miscarried. After a very depressing Christmas, we are looking forward to trying again. So while it isn’t impossible for you, just be prepared to move on to other options. Best of luck on your journey.

I am sorry for what you've been going through. My FSH fluctuates monthly (everyones does). Lowest day 3 FSH was 10, highest was 20. I am still able to crank out 2-6 eggs per/month. 2 REs told me I am NOT peri-menopausal with those numbers. I am 39. Also, on the month my FSH was 20, the doctor had me wait til day 6, recheck FSH and dropped to 9, then he started stims. That month, I retrieve 6 eggs. No pgs normal blasts yet, but I am continuing to try because I still have eggs left and have no issues with fertilization or making at least 1 blast. Hang in there!

I'm so sorry for your diagnosis, which I unfortunately have, as well. I'm currently on my 3rd specialist. The first one told me that if I were to get pregnant with my own eggs, the egg quality should be fine at my age (33). The difficulty was stimulating them with the IVF meds. I've had 4 IUI's, all with only 1 follicle, that were unsuccessful (later found out that I had a polyp in my uterus that required removal). I saw another specialist who said that they could do nothing but that I could try on my own (I've researched this and it seems like a lot of fertility clinics are big on showing successful statistics, so taking someone with our diagnoses isn't good for their stats. I find this infuriating). I am now working with my new specialist who is willing to move forward with IVF, even if I only produce 1 follicle. He has warned me that the chance of success is quite small, and that even though I have a follicle, there may not be an egg found inside. As long as I'm able to have the opportunity to try, I'll know that I've done all that I could. If all else fails, I'll have to consider the alternative and use an egg donor.
