Hi All,

My period is always 28 day cycles. I'm currently 5 days late. I've had x2 bfn tested on the day I was supposed to have af and two lays later. I took clomid 3-7 at 50mg and Femara 2.5 but do ovulate but was advised to take them for 6 months before I'd be referred to a FS. I had a brownish/red light bleed for 2 days on day 19&20. My gynae said that doesn't normally happen and that I should test but so far bfns. I have used clomid before without any of these side effects. My gynae isn't in until the end of the week. Could clomid be fooling me into skipping or making my period late? Could I be pregnant but not picking up a bfp as yet? Should I do a blood test? Have never skipped a period ever! Baby dust to all & any devise would be appreciated!

Hello! Sorry to hear things are not as expected. Being 5 days late seems very frustrating when you're getting BFNs. The only way to rule out pregnancy is with a beta HCG blood test when your doc returns. Also, I have never heard of clomid delaying your period, as its an follicle stimulant and ovulation assisting drug. Also, sometimes people don't get a positive home pregnancy test for a long time, so maybe test every couple of days and only rule it out if the beta test is negative. Maybe your doc has some ways to help bring on your period when you meet up again. Best of luck!

My doc said my period could be late from Clomid due to a delay in ovulation. I think this only happens in women who take it but ovulate regularly without. Your not out until AF shows up, could be HCG isn't high enough to register on a pregnancy test yet, I've read about someone who implant really late like cycle day 12 and don't build high enough HCG until several days after, uncommon but not impossible. Sorry your still in the waiting game, so frustrating!!

It's driving me crazy. 6days late today and bfn again )0: @hope114 I also hadn't and neither has the dr, am going to wait and test every 3/4th day or so until Dr is back but also don't want to do the blood tests and have a possible dispointment if you know what I mean!? @DitkaonDeck has this ever happened to you? I def do ovulate every month and am sure it was quite early this round (between days 9-12 because the pain...) but just put it down to the clomid on days 3-7. It's totally frustrating! Are you in the same boat? Baby dust and positives to you both!!!

Actually I happened to ovulate right on time, unfortunately. The Clomid did mess up my LH reading though and I think I scheduled my IUI after I ovulated because I caught the LH reading on the way down. I think. I was not monitored this cycle so I am not sure exactly which day I ovulated on.

Oh my word, so frustrating! Sending baby dust to you @DitkaOnDeck and am hoping this is your month. Called my gynaes office and was informed that nearly 1 week late is still "quite early to test" and that I should wait a few days and test again and come for bloods if period hasn't returned in another week!!!! (How can I wait another week?!?!?) this is our fifth year trying. I asked her if in my possible case of my cycle and estimated ovulation dates a bit early on clomid and she said that it can be quite possible that I am pregnant and that HCG might not be high enough. She ruled out clomid and cysts being the cause of period delay but who knows!? Holding thumbs for you ladies! #notestinguntilaweekeek!
