I have heard of the same amount of women having "litters" on clomid as on injectables. My RE actually had more multiples off of Clomid than injectables last year. It is your RE's responsibility to monitor how many eggs you ovulate anyway. My RE told me that if they get more than a specified number of eggs then they will shut my IUI down and not move forward. He would rather cancel a cycle than have me deliver a litter!

i don't go to an RE yet because we can't afford it....this is through my OBGYN. she had a high rate of twins with clomid, but not more than that. and this is without IUI. straight forward injections and the "natural way" beyond that

I have tried Femara (kind of like clomid) and i tried injectables I didn't have any follies on femara but i did on the shots so we had to go that route - we did IUI's 3 out of the 4 times we did shots but still BFN the shots were not too bad and I would do them again in a hearbeat to someday get that BFP..

i think an IUI with injectables is the best way to go-i did clomid 4 times and produced altho i ovulated as well as timed intercourse, it never worked.

then my 2nd IUI with injectables worked-the first IUI was with clomid.

your egg growth and quantity will be monitored every other day to see your progress and when to do the trigger. it's a pain to go every other day, and a pain to pay the copay if (mine was $30) but in the end worth it!

I only did IUI with the Clomid and it did not work for us, but there are other reasons like sperm and blocked tubes that kept if from happening. My RE told us if we did injections with IUI there may be a higher risk for multiples, but she was not against it if it was needed.
We since moved on to IVF w/ICSI though.
