Hi is used donor eggs. Three was my charm. We are 16 weeks pregnant.! The 1st ivf was one donor. We bought 7 eggs. Only 1 made to be a "transfer quality embryo". It did not implant. Not even a trace above zero on my 1st my hcg blood draw. We used a whole new donor for our 2nd try & 2 embryos resulted from 8 eggs. We did a 2nd single embryo transfer & again no implant occurred. Not even a trace above zero on my 1st hcg blood draw. We did have that second embryo to freeze so we did. 3rd transfer took. I did oral estrace til 10 weeks & progesterone oil shots as,well as vaginal suppositories til 12 weeks. Ouch! I wish you all the best & baby dust. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. The fertility clinic I am working with offers a donor program. We can select a donor on our own or share a donor with 2 other couples to help off-set the cost. Not sure which way we will go yet. This journey has cost a small fortune but I wouldn't change it for the world. I would love to hear more about how you selected your donor and what qualities you looked for. I realize that each woman needs to acknowledge which step is most important in creating her family (whether it is the experience of being pregnant and carrying the baby, using a surrogate, adopting, etc), but I am struggling with the fact that using a donor egg means that the baby is biologcally my husband's but has no genetic ties to me. Hi, Goodthingtocome, although I am still going to try more IVF with my own eggs, I am considering a donor egg option as well, as a Plan B. I have the same feelings about not having the same genes as my kid...makes me feel left out! On a good note, so many people I know did donor eggs and they don't feel ambivalent about it the least bit. I think its normal to feel unsure, but perhaps talking to others that have gotten it done can help out?

I just had to come to terms with it. It was our only option. I am growing this baby. All my nutrients & care for my body makes it all mine. She was an anonymous lady who helped me.
Not a mother to mine. When choosing a donor, my personal donor coordinator was amazing. I wanted not only a close match on looks & family heritage but proven pregnancies & births. We used my egg bank. A national egg bank. You only see infant & early childhood pictures of the donor. Hope if this helps.

No problem sharing. We did the attain program. Which is like insurance. You have to qualify. Mainly with a referal from your fertility doc. So a thorough exam & tests are done. Hsg etc. The program offers for donor eggs only I think. There are 2 packages. 2 full rounds/cycle of ivf : includes 6 eggs & unlimited transfers per cycle with baby home guarantee or 50% back. Or 3 full cycles unlimited transfers 6 eggs per cycle. 100% money back if no baby home. Without meds I think 2 was about 33,000 & 3 was around 39,000. We did 2 cycles. I think with meds & what insurance didn't cover it was about $40,000. For us. Kind of a ball park. Each new cycle is a new donor & new set of 6 eggs. My egg bank. My 1st round only had 1 transferable embryo that did not take. My 2nd round gave me 2. 1 did not take & 1 did. (My baby is a boy!) 18 weeks. Lmk if this helps. You can also purchase extra individual eggs from the donor if she has enough on hand. About $2000 Each to increase your chances.

Hi, I can't help with personal experiences, but I would recommend seeing a doc to discuss reasons why yr ivf cycles have failed. If you can't conceive cos of chromosomal abnormalities (no implantation), then yr doc might recommend considering ivf with pgs ngs. If you can't conceive cos of egg quality, then ivf with donor eggs might solve yr issue. I have a good friend that used donor eggs after 6 failed ivf cycles. Her babies are beautiful, and they are one happy family. It's the love that matters :-)

Thanks so much for sharing the costs of using donor eggs, MaizyDottie. All of the info is so helpful. My insurance company denied coverage for a third IVF cycle so donor eggs is our next step. I have come to the same realization that you did - I will be growing the baby and this is our only option to grow our family. We are looking into adoption as well. I hope your pregnancy is progressing well and that you're feeling good. So, so, so excited for you!! How long did it take for you to get pregnant starting from your first try?

Our natural family planning was about 2 years then
4 iui's(different doc & clinic)
& with new doc & clinic then 3 separate ivf (donor egg) transfers. We never did ivf with my eggs.
Our 1st embryo transfer was May 16th 2016, the 2nd was aug 29th 2016 & the 3rd taker was January 31st 2017. The ironic thing about it all is that the 1st embryo that didn't take would have been born on the same date as my last transfer. I still have remembrance & with never forget those 2 littles in heaven. I read alot of families celebrate the babies birthday & transfer day! So essentially with our new doc & clinic the time frame was January 2016 - February 2017. I graduated from the clinic to my regular ob in March 2017.
