Totally gave up alcohol though. Sure miss red wine.
I think from a diet standpoint, if you're trying to make a lifestyle change, then go for it...otherwise everything is probably ok in moderation. :)
I cut down on drinking wine a few months ago, but then I started taking Metformin for my PCOS and can't drink at all on it. It sucked at first but now I'm used to it.
And all this to say I'm still not pregnant. :(
That's my point - we give up so much and get back so little. ;( hate this. However, I am ready to give up all these and more if i knew for sure that I will have a baby. At this point, I am so tired from giving up on life.
so i did some research and i found that whatever coffee does to the brain, is the same thing that stress does to the brain-it releases the chemical of that 'fight or flight' that we have that stops our hormones from producing what it needs to conceive b/c it thinks we're under 'extreme stress'
however..and this is a big HOWEVER..the studies that were done were shown to be EXTREME amounts of caffeine..not just a cup in the morning to get you through the day..more like 3-5 cups..so i think those drinking a cup a day will be fine.
also, i found this site: http://fertility.amuchbetterway.com/does-coffee-impair-fertility/
pretty much says the same thing. i think organic, free-trade coffee is the way to go.
as for red wine-my RE said to me 'a glass of red wine at night will relax you, and increase your chances of conceiving' - of course, until you get that BFP!
best of luck..xoxo-S
I gave up coffee and soda which was very hard for me. I still drink tea but I miss my Starbucks! Ugh!
