Gosh I wish I remembered better, take another look, I seem to remember that you "primer" the pen at one and administered the doses at another? Im pretty sure I have the directions at home, Ill take another look at them tonight.

You know I used Gonal F with my IUIs but DH did the injections to I don't think I ever even touched the pen. Let me ask him and I will let you know.

Ok so I was close to prime you hav it at 37.5, but that's it. The red numbers not sure, here's the website I found if it helps.

So DH wrote back and said it tells u the dose ... if its 300 .... u turn it to 300 ... pull the tab out & it will say 300. I think you just set it at 37.5 the 1st time you use it to prime it (to get any air bubbles out) but we forgot to do that all the time and when I asked my nurse she said it wasn't a huge deal if you didn't prime it. Good luck.

I'm still not sure?? I have already primed the pen now I'm taking my 2nd dosage!! So start at 37.5 each time thereafter?

When using your pen for the first time, you need to "prime" it! Basically, set black# at 37.5, then pull the red knob until it clicks then push the red knob and you should get a lil bit of Gonal F coming out! Then your pen is ready to be set at your dosage. If I remember correctly (I am at work and don't have the pen in front of me) You do not need to start it at the 37.5 after priming. You want to match your dose in black to the black arrow, then you pull the end with the red numbers. To confirm you loaded the correct amount you turn the red number part and look for the last red arrow touching the white. It should match yoru dose. (So if you take 225, the red arrow should be at 225). It is also good becaue if you used a part of one pen but don't have enough for a full dose in that pen you will know. You can use partial dose from that pen and then the difference from another pen.

You may want to look around that site a little. My pharmacy or RE gave me a poster with a chart on it and it shows if I use say 30 units from one pen and then it runs out but I need to take a total of 225 units, instead of doing the math it tells you on the chart.

I don't use it until next cycle, but my nurse had me watch this video, hope it helps!
