Good luck
Best of luck!!!
That was our first IVF. We did four more cycles after that and at two different clinics without any problems. Pain was minimal. In fact the AF cramping I am having right now is far worse then the pain following ER of our last four cycles.
A few recommendations and things we did different for me:
If you have any problems with motion sickness or have ever been sick from anesthesia, let them know. They can either put something in the IV and/or put a little round sticker behind your ear that will help with the nausea. It will also help with any nausea you may experience from the antibiotics.
Also, if you are in pain then let them know so they can help you manage it. We figured out what worked for me and that is what they used going forward. We are all different. Some people can walk right out and others can't.
For some reason I have a very hard time in hospital beds. When I had my tubes removed I needed to have the nurses take me out of the hospital bed and put me in a geriatric chair. The bed was triggering my back pain which was making my stomach pain worse. The same thing happened the day of our very first ER except I did not think to have them take me out of the bed.
Also, I do not recommend eating a lime green colored pistachio muffin after ER if you think you may be sick. It does not look so pretty coming up as you are being wheeled out of he hospital, as I am sure the man who ran out of the elevator would tell you. ;-)
But seriously, I only had a hard time 1 out of 5 cycles. I think that is pretty good. I have a feeling you are going to do great! I don't want to scare you with my story, because most women do not have a hard time with it, but I wanted to be honest. Also, be sure to drink A LOT of fluids for the few days following, either water or something with electrolytes in it like Pedialyte or Gatorade. I like the apple Pedialyte with some water added to it (it is a little too sweet for me other wise). The added fluids will help keep you from ovarian hyperstimulation.
You are going to do GREAT! I am sending a ton of sticky baby dust your way and 2010 is the year of YOUR miracle! BELIEVE!! :-)
wish me luck!!!
