We were very lucky to conceive our son who is now 19months old! I was 39 when we started trying and 40 when treatment began for low follicle count. The doctor said I did not qualify for IVF, and was completely hopeless. Did clomid, and had one HCG shot and IUI (it was my third IUI, but first time with the HCG included), 3 weeks later we had our BFP! I had also been taking DHEA, and doing acupuncture during ovulation and after the IUI. Had a fabulous pregnancy and home birth (I was 41).
I just stopped nursing so I can begin Clomid. Had my first cycle Jan 16th. OMG was it painful!!!
the Doc is once again negative, but I pointed out what happened last time. I had known I was going to have a boy, and now I see a little girl. But if nothing comes of this, I am okay with it, although I really want to give my son, who loves babies, a sibling to go through life with.
I am not feeling like this is the month for me to conceive, had my 2nd cycle on the 16th of March, and stopped nursing on the 19th when I started on the clomid. A normal period. I am so sad to stop nursing. My boy loves it and I now realize how much money we saved in food! LOL! He is eating like a 5year old and his fatty roles are all gone!! so very cute!
So here we go again! I am doing a spring cleanse to clean out my body (juice fasting for a few days), and going back to a super healthy whole foods diet.

I recently started to post on the board again. I am getting ready to start trying for my second child as well. Our little boy was born via IVF. We were dealing with severe male factor, but I am hoping that things have changed a bit. The next few months I will try some natural things (would love to hear what you've tried) before going through an FET with our one and only frozen blast.
Hoping that we get those BFPs very soon!

But IUI worked last time! Nice to chat with others over or near 40. Nothing like a little pressure from the good ole' "clock ticking" away...
Suzannelin, what alternative methods are you looking at now? I am always interested in hearing and learning more too! Acupuncture worked great for me. Also, studies have been done that acupuncture within 20mins of implantation of an embryo has a high success rate. Many hospitals offer it on sight now.
How old is your little boy?
My DH is having another analysis done tuesday. He didn't have any issues then, but he has had some medical things going on, so fingers are crossed!
aboveda: how many months are you? Are you looking to have two back to back? I had thought of that, but I loved nursing so much, and it was so hard to deny my little one, but he really loves the babies! He plays so good with other kids! I wish I had weaned him at 12mo and started sooner. Oh well, he is healthier for it.:)
Catlover8: what treatment are you undergoing now? what is your reaction to clomid? Do you also have a low follicle count like myself? Best wishes!!
