I know what you mean. I am getting close to ER (probably this weekend) I too did IVF meds with my last IUI. I am just trying to remain positive and sane. My DH is doing the best he can to help me through this. He calls it," the cost of happiness". It I want a massage - he gives it to me. If I want to use the computer he gets off. He's great and I wouldn't be able to get through the insanity without him.

I hope your treatment goes well and remember that the meds eventually work their way out of your system.

I think there is a lot of us in similar situations right now. I start BCP once AF comes and my injections for my first IVF start Feb 6th. I am soo excited and terrified all at the same time. I am excited because of the higher success rate but I am terrified because this woudl be the last step for us before adoption. It is incredibly overwheling and I can't imagine not being worried. I am also worried about the side effects as I was pretty emotional and moody during the IUI w/injectibles but I am releived that I did injections before so that I have an idea of what I am in for. I would be 10,000 times more scared if I hadn't done the injections with my IUIs. As I haven't yet done the process I can't offer any great words of wisdom but as we will be going through our 1st IVF at pretty much the same exact time, I am here if you want to talk or vent or anything. I agree with amn76 about being more relaxed because I've already done the drugs. Learning to self inject is horrible and scary. I'm glad that I got over that anxiety before my IVF treatment. I know the drugs make me extremely tired and moody but I also know that its temporary. The first time I took the drugs I got extremely depressed and thought my world was ending. After stopping the meds my life went back to normal. That experience taught me a huge lesson. Now when I take the drugs I keep telling myself not to over react and that I will get my life back. Besides infertility my life is pretty good.

That is a good way to look at it. It is awful when a chemical is making your mind do something it normally wouldn't but you are right. The meds are temporary and hopefully the down side of the meds will all be worth it for all of us!!

Try to take it one day at a time. I freaked out before my IVF, almost throwing in the towel because I was looking at the whole picture. The shots, the appointments, they possible physical and emotional side effects. But DH made me realize to take it one day at a time. And looking back it really wasn't all that bad! I mean it's no picnic either, but it wasn't anywhere near what I expected. The time flies by once you start! Just keep in mind what you're working for and some of possible side effects will seem minor in comparism of having a baby from this!!! I'm glad I'm not alone in my feelings. I, too, am a little relieved that I did a couple of IUIs with injectables, but I'm still scared about how my body will react to the megadoes of drugs. The best advice I've gotten from someone who has gone through this is to take one day and one shot at a time. Besides infertility, my life is pretty good too, but man, can this infertility do a number on you, right!

I am on my second IVF-
I have had no side effects from any of the injections, it is not bad at all!!! Hang in there and best of luck !

i would realy like to thank you all for your support and kindness. i know that i need to take this all one day at a time and stop stressing myself. i think that i need to concentrate on my hobbies to take my mind off the anxiety of it all.
