Follicle Question

Ok, I just got back from the dr. and had my u/s after taking Femara for the 2nd cycle. The doctor acted very positive, said my lining was thick and I had 3 follicles. But here's where I'm concerned. 2 measured at 13 and one at 11. Last month I only had 2 but they were both arond 18. 13 and 11 seem really small to me. So I asked the dr. and he said they needed 3 more days..to give my shot on Sunday (which will be cd 15) and IUI on tuesday (cd 17). He acted like it was all normal but I'm still worried. I was so hoping to have nice big follicles!! Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

That sounds pretty normal to me. The follicles start small and grow about 1-2 mm every day. So at 13 and 11, your follicles have about 7 and 9 mm, respectively, to grow. Once they pass about 12 mm, they'll grow at about 2 mm ever7 24-36 hours. Meaning that when you give the trigger, they should be about 19 and 17 mm. After the trigger, you can expect about 4-6mm growth before they release the egg, which would put them at about 22-25 mm. Which is exactly where you want them.

Short answer - they'll be fine, and you'll be fine. They just take time to grow. I think we've all experienced it.

Yup, ITA with pp. I just wanted to add that being on meds like Femara can make your O date vary from month to month... so this probably where you were last month around the time you were Oing, but it's just a little later this time.

This has happened to me also. Sometimes I didn't get the trigger shot till day 16. By Tuesday your follies should be the right size. Good luck!
