HI everyone, my husband and I are going through our first round of IVF starting at the end of the month or in March depending on if we can get our treatment plan approved in time. I am 27, and he is 28 and we have been trying to conceive for 2 years. We found out in March of last year that my husband has severely low sperm count <1mil due to a vericocele. Although we corrected it via embolization, his numbers have not improved. It has been a very trying year for us, but I am hopeful IVF will help us build the family we have always dreamed of. I am joining this group because although my family & friends are eager to know about what we are doing, and want to offer support, I feel like I really needed to chat with women that truly understand.
I think the biggest stress right now is the financial piece (so expensive, yikes). We are trying to get approved for financing, and just really reigning in our budget to get prepared financially.
I've heard it's just best to take it all one day at a time, one moment at a time, so that's what we are trying to do!

We couldn't tell our families b/c it would cause them and us to much worry and anxiety. As it is we get enough questions and if we told them, it wouldn't be good for anyone. So most of my support has come from forums like this one.
It is sooooooooo expensive here it's insane. We actually went abroad to do it b/c there was no way we could have done it here. It's so unfair on so many levels.

I also am new to sharing on these, but from the short time, it's been so helpful with information and the emotional part. I often feel guilty keeping my family and some friends at a distance, but it's true - you almost don't want to burden them with this stress, too, because there isn't anything they can do and also sometimes I feel like they can say hurtful things they don't realize are hurtful. I tell them it is enough just knowing they are there. Sometimes you just need the normalcy of talking about anything else :)
Taking it one day at a time is good to go by. Remember it is completely ok to not be ok, too. Do something for yourself- nails, pedicure, good book - whatever small things make you happy :) Sometimes I just take a moment to take a deep breath!
