I am 34 but essentially did the same thing as you. I had 3 years of unsuccessful trying. In those three years we also had to switch doctors because we were not happy with who we were using. It was the best choice. Did all the tests. Unexplained infertility. Did several rounds of medicated attempts, 3 failed IUIs and moved on to IVF. First cycle with fresh transfer worked and had my daughter in Dec of 15. I just not went through my second IVF cycle. They did a fresh work up and I was diagnosed DOR. Did 10 days of high dose stim and then retrieval. We got 20 mature follicles. 18 fertilized. 13 grew to day 5 blasts. Of those 13, 6 were PGS normal. We just transferred one embryo on Tuesday and I am in my TWW. So I have been through most of what you have gone through including your next steps. Thank you so much for your response, mrsmooney! We have unexplained infertility as well, so I don't expect the new testing to point to anything as a root cause. Did you have to do another retrieval or did you have frozen embryos left from your first IVF?

The TWW is the worst, always, and I'm sure it's doubly bad after the transfer. I'm just trying to hear from people who have gone through it, things to look out for, or what you wish you knew going in, etc. Did you use any other support group for infertility? I'm just starting to try and reach out for support now but I'm not finding much out there.

I do still have 4 embryos from my first round of IVF but they were not PGS tested. So we wanted to do another round with PGS testing so that we could be sure the eggs we had going forward were PGS clear. I am not getting any younger so we felt it was better to do it this year rather than after another pregnancy.
When I went through my first cycle I used this site and Baby Center for support. They have forums on baby center where you can get in with specific same month cycle buddies, which really helped me. I am the only person in my family who needed all this fertility stuff, so no one could relate.
I will say the injections really aren't as bad as you think. If you ice your skin first, then clean and and inject you seriously don't even feel it. Estrogen suppression is really hard on your body. More so than the other hormones, for me at least. I would suggest you stay as optimistic as possible... and remember to give yourself plenty of grace. This is a very hard process and you'll need lots of self care as you go through it!!! But it is TOTALLY worth it! My daughter is a miracle blessing and I would do it over again 100 times to have her!

I'm in my TWW as well after a FET on Wednesday. It's such a difficult time mentally but I'm feeling hopeful :) We had ICSI last November / December but I ended up with OHSS so had to have a freeze all and wait until my body was ready again.

I found the injections a lot easier than most people make out too. But remember, each of our journeys are different and you will need to really give yourself space and patience as you go through this. Be kind to yourself! This is tough stuff! For me (and this was / is really hard) I now have a rule of no counting! Put the calendar away and try to live in the moment, not the future. I'm trying to remember that all I am do today is rest and give my embryo the best chance of "sticking". I got so caught up in the future I forgot to live in the now too which can be so hard when going through this process. Good luck!

I wish I were disciplined enough to enforce a rule of no counting, I compulsively check my apps and calendars. I have not had this done; but I am curious how everyone pays for this? My husband and I are on our next stop IVF because there are no other physical options for my body. But shelling out 14K for a maybe is terrifying. Again, how do you all afford it?

We are also 100% out of pocket for this. The money is hard to come to terms with, but the farther along get in the process, the easier it gets, actually. We are getting a credit card with 0% interest for 18 months. We have to pay the for everything up front, so the bill is due in a couple of weeks. Our plan to pay it off is based completely on frugality. We are pretty frugal anyway, but we have high fixed bills, including child support payments for my step-kids, school loans, car payments, mortgages, etc. A penny saved is actually more like 2 pennies earned when you factor in taxes. Check out the frugalwoods blog! This is our priority, so no eating out, expensive groceries, unnecessary travel, gifts, etc. It isn't forever, just until we can pay the balance off.
