I think if you need a break, take it! My husband and I have been trying for over a year, and I'm so frustrated and sad, I can't take it anymore. I told him I wanted to a month or two off and he doesn't want to. He has no idea what WE are putting my body and emotions through. I'm taking a month off!! God knows I need it! I need time to stop crying and start healing. I've gone thru the IUI process and although seems much easier than IVF, it's still tuff emotionally.

I think a good break would get us both relaxed. Which is needed to keep going! Best of luck to you! ;)

Thank you so much for sharing your journey with me. I definitely agree and unfortunately if this IUI doesn't take I will definitely take a month off before IVF. I need to feel like myself again and I think just being in control of my own emotions will definitely help. Best of luck to you as well :)

Hi there! First, insurance makes dealing with all of this so much more difficult! It's very frustrating, we're moving on to IVF and 0 is covered so I understand having that extra layer of stress added in on everything else. And agreed above, take your break :) it's very emotional when it doesn't work and if your head is not in the right space, you should take some time to heal your body and mind how you need. I think partners always will deal with it differently. After our third failed and agreed upon IUI before IVF, my husband was acting like everything was great and let's be positive and what not. I wanted to yell at him to be mad and that it's not the way it feel fore me...then a couple weeks later he admitted how sad he was and that it's easier for him to act like it's ok and stay busy and be our rock. So I think sometimes it's a matter of just coming to an understanding that you both have to feel it how you're going to feel it and just be there no matter how that is.

I went through one IUI cycle and man, it does take a lot of time and effort! If you need to take a month off, take it. It's not like you can't go back to doing it.

Don't lose hope though. One thing I've learned through this whole thing is that getting pregnant is so much harder than what society led us to believe. There's only a 20% on a good month! Going through a few rounds of IUI is totally normal.

That's tough, dear. I suppose you should give yourself time. To heal well. To think on your further steps. To feel better emotionally. It will help to gain more strength. Best of luck x

Totally take a break if you need it. Sex became a chore and we definitely took a break. I missed the lightness and laughter in our marriage. It was definitely good for us. We are back to trying but I’m working on being ok with whatever outcome happens. Maybe take time to do something you enjoy just for you. I’m forcing myself to work out. I also journal. And I started writing all the things I was grateful for each day. I still have hard days but your mind is the only thing we can work on. Sending you positive thoughts and prayers. And know you are not alone. I totally had a huge meltdown earlier this month. It’s not any easy journey. But it will make it that much more precious when it works out. I also joined an in person support group. Just hearing other people’s journeys made me feel more at peace. It’s easier talking to others that just get it.
