I'm 39 and trying for a second child. I know what people may think, be grateful you have a beautiful Son already. All I can say is the need to conceive again is as strong as it was the first time round and The pain of each passing failed month is excruciating. My Son is 4 and asks me all the time "when will I be a big brother ". There is no medical reason why i can't conceive just have to keep trying.... my husband want us to stop when I turn 40 with us now only months away and I'm feel devestated this morning as my period starts. I was convinced this month was different too everything pointed to success and yet FAILED again. It's like a cruel joke. I just feel hopeless.

I also feel disappointed every month when I get my period. Are you using ovulation sticks? I strongly advise you to if you are not already. I am 43 and also hoping to conceive a second child. How stressful to have a time limit like that.

Yes I use pee sticks and I'm lucky enough to get ovulation pains so hitting the mark doesn't seem to be the problem. I going to the Doc's to see if there's anything more I can be doing. Good luck to you I hope everything works out for you.

I feel hopeless everyday too, and then I feel so depressed and sad I just want to crawl into bed. It's not fair. My husband and I would provide the most loving and stable home for a child and all we want is to have a family and it's been 15 months and every month I take a test and I've gotten 15 negatives. Every negative chips away at my heart. Your son sounds very wonderful. I'm sorry this is happening to you, to me, to all of us. All this medical advances, modern technology and still no way to guarantee pregnancy 100%, makes you realize how small and we are how we can't control everything. Sigh.

You might suffer from secondary infertility. I would recommend seeing a really good speciliast, and consider undergoing IVF, even with PGS NGS. Good luck

I understand your pain. I have a beautiful little man and was trying for a second. The first was ivf but we hoped for a second natural. I was a mental mess the first time and now I was all back to that sane emotional rollercoaster and it doesn't help that society doesn't "allow " you to hurt over not being able to have a second baby. My life just turned upside down because of relationship issues. I'm turning 39 next month and now my heart is broken because now I will likely never be able anymore to have a second child.
