I am new to infertility as I just found out that i have a problem with one and maybe both of my fallopian tubes. I have to have surgery to have my left tube taken out and am so nervous. Also, my doctor told me that I am "a perfect fit for IV" because my husband has low sperm count and mobility. I will be starting IV in the winter and am nervous and scared as to what to expect. People keep telling me that "it will happen when its right" and "its in God's plans" and "at least you have eggs" etc. It is just brand new to me and would like some advice on how to cope and deal with this process and also how it will be during the process.
We finished our 1st IVF cycle and I am currently 7 wks pregnant! It CAN happen. The whole process is really not as bad as I thought it was going to be. And if it's going to bring a healthy baby into our arms I would do it 10 more times!

I agree with Lil, I'm lucky that IVF worked for us (only 5 weeks now) but just getting this far has blown my mind in a good way. I will do this 100x if I have to. IVF seems really scary and confusing, but taking one step at a time has shown me that the build up was much worse than anything else.
When you are ready, you will get through it just fine! Good luck with your surgery.
As for ease of appointments, every place probably does it differently, but I went in for blood and ultrasounds early morning, then went to work right after. I was always at work at the same time I usually am. It was super easy. I also had a lot more monitoring than most because I was over stimming. But the appointments were never a bother. I had same with Lil, 2 days off for retrieval and 4 days of bed rest after transfer (which is really conservative). I only needed to take 2 days because my transfer was on a Saturday.
The hardest part of all of it is just the mental side of things. The waiting is much harder, and you feel so much more is riding on each cycle. I do acupuncture, walk a lot, listen to meditation music at work, and I did the Circle Bloom IVF program. All of that helped in a huge way!
