My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for a while now and a few months ago we did all the testing and found out that I was the reason we couldn't. I have pcos and I feel very defective. I was on metformin to lose weight and see what could happen. I lost some weight and I thought maybe things might be on the right track because i was starting to have my periods monthly again, but I stopped taking the meds because they were making me really sick and having to run to the bathroom after you eat several times is not great especially at work. I did lose some weight but still nothing. Then this month came and no period, I did a pregnancy test and it was negative. It just sucks when you get your hopes up and they come crashing down. When ever I see people who are pregnant or just had a baby i get really upset and depressed. I don't have anyone to talk to about it, and I feel really alone. My friends keep asking when we are going to have a kid and I just answer, I don't know. Taking shots or other treatments for my pcos/infertility are out because I can't afford them since they are not covered by insurance. Im just sick of feeling like crap and being depressed because my body won't corporate.
I also don't have insurance coverage for infertility, but my husband and I are taking out a loan to do IVF. It took us six years to get to this point, and even though it's scary to take on more debt, we can't imagine what would be more worth it. And we know we'll regret it if we don't try. I went through so many periods of depression over the years; it is so hard and so unfair! I don't know how long you've been trying and if you're even able to afford to take on debt to try more aggressive treatments (we weren't able to for the longest time), but I hope that you will be able to find a way. I can understand being depressed seeing other pregnant women who or pregnant or have children. I often wonder what they did to deserve the ability to have children so easily while i have to go through hell? Guess I will never know
My insurance does not cover most of the infertility treatments needed but my doctor suggested some programs that help with the costs. Right now I am doing the Letrozole/Gonal F combo with TI..which my first cycle failed! (not surprised)
I'm so sorry for what you're feeling. But i hope things will change for better soon. I If you keep on going this way you'll lose more weight and become even stronger. PCOS is a curable disease giving a good rate of conceiving.
We've been in this journey for more than 2 years. Now it being a DE IVF program in biotexcom, which is in Ukraine. For us it's egg donation. For you it is still the chance of conceiving with OE. Try it to the full and don't give up.
