So....I logged on today, and its been a really long time, due to an iccident at work but we will get to that :) I was looking at my profile and saw the goal setting spot. My goal was to "get pregnant this year". I entered that 5/10/2012 in a month it will be a two years since I entered that goal and I'm pretty sure I'm farther away now then I was then! How awful is that! We took a break from baby making and I thought I was okay with it then today at work I was asked by a pregnant co-worker to take a picture of her and another pregnant co-worker with their bellies touching. I should add that they are both ready to pop. I turned her down gently but I was hit with how painful and large that void in my soul is. If you took a "break" how long before you started again?

It will be two years next month since I started trying. I haven't taken a 'break' yet even though everyone tells me to just stop trying and it'll happen. It's hard to not think about it when you want something so much!
Have you considered acupuncture for fertility, or seeing a naturopath?
I hope the two year mark doesn't get you down too much. I find some days are harder for me than others. Take care kinkajou :)

It's been 2 yrs 4 months for me now. I didn't bother ever setting a goal. I did for some reason tell myself I wasn't going to cut my hair until I got pregnant and if I hadn't gotten the occasional trim my hair would be all the way to my butt by now. I'm thinking of just giving in and cutting it. We haven't taken a break yet, but we've had a few "not preventing" months here and there. It never works. I think you just do what is right for you. There is no magic length of time that makes you feel better about infertility. Sorry you had to go through that pain, we're here for you.

It's actually been just over 5 years of trying! Just two since I joined DS and set that unaccomplishable goal :( Thanks ladies for your support. Venting can be such a balm. My husband's cousin and his wife just had a baby and I had the worst time. I couldn't even look at Holli without fighting tears and they just told me today they are pregnant with their third bundle of joy....yay me.
