Hello all. I am new to DS and am in need of support. I am currently 35 yo and have been through 4 cycles of IVF with my own eggs which obviously don't seem to be of good quality. Nevertheless I am emotionally and physically spent. I am now taking Metformin in prep for IVF cycle 5. I have already prayed and worked myself up to the idea of donor eggs because I just can't take the emotional roller coaster we have been through. However hubby wanted me to try one last time with my own eggs. Thus this Friday is my next appt with RE. I have been on BC for 5 weeks this Friday. Nevertheless my question is has anyone considered going out of the country for donor egg IVF? I ask because it is a fraction of the cost as here in the US. If anyone has considered donor egg in a different country which country and why? If you have done donor egg IVF in another country, which country and please share your experience. Were you successful and on what number try? I thank you in advance for your responses to my questions. I pray that this silent disease of infertility becomes a thing of the past for those of us who so desire to be parents. I also look forward to supporting those of us who need it as I look forward to the support as well. Only a woman who has gone down this road knows exactly how another woman feels! Be blessed always

Oh I am so glad you are starting this group!! I just posted a similar question - 6 minutes after you. I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this because I am also trying to decide what to do. I asked my RE in NYC about donor eggs and he said they do 400-500 every year! I would welcome any thoughts or comments from my DS friends please post or send me a message. Thanks!!!

Helloo 1Hope. I am new to the site but I have done a lot of research on donor eggs outside of the USA because it is so expensive here. I too had 3 IVF cycles in NYC with one RE and then switched to a different RE. He was able to get 4 good eggs which all fertilized but nothing implanted. We are going to try this one more time and then on to donor eggs. At this point I just want to be pregnant and a mother. My current RE is also in NYC. Do you mind me asking which clinic you used? I used Advanced Fertility SErvices and they have excellent success rates however I just was not successful. I also felt like I was at a baby factory at times there. My current RE is a husband and wife team and they are both great. I need some info from others who went outside of the US. I am at work and cant even find the donor ivf'ers discussions. But oh well you saw this one so I guess others will as well. I look forward to your response.

I myself have booked an appointment this Sept in a clinic in Mumbai India,I have contacted a few of the patients who were success stories with doner and all i have heard are praises.
i will be doing a doner cycle this sept and feel comfortable because it will cost me aprox 6/10 thousand inc flight, I have relatives (Lucky)out there so accomadation is on lock down. I myself have had 3 failed ivfs cycles (Canada) and feel doner is the way to go. There is a clinic in Punjab (north india ) where 2 ladies i know have had success. 1 is having triplets and 1 a single, they were bith trying for over 15 years.

Hello Rozedhaliwal, thank you so much for your response. I have researched so many countries and I think we are deciding on India for a few reasons. 1. Cost, 2. variety of skin tones 3. success testimonials. You are fortunate that you have family in Mumbai. That is exactly where I have researched several clinics. I have had email correspondence with a few doctors as well. I am so excited for you. September is around the corner! I am also exited for your friends who also ended up pregnant. If I am being intrusive I apologize in advance however I would be interested in knowing which clinic in Mumbai you chose and which doctor. In addition maybe you can suggest sites to see and things to do while we're there. Also since the last terrorist attack in India I have been concerned do you know the status thus far? I would really love to chat with you because I think that use of donor eggs is a ig decision but to do it outside of your home country is a walk with faith. I look forward to your response. Any suggestions of picking the egg donor profile? Do you pick one that is closest to you? We have found one that we like...we want to pick a donor by the end of June to get started in July...please let me know any tips. Thanks. Lori

Sorry i have been away for a while. My lil sister Just got married (Phew lots of work lol). Anyway the clinic in Mumbai is called Malpani Fertility clinic in colaba Mumbai, Great clinic,Colaba is the tourist district area, The Clinic in the Punjab (where the 2 ladies with success:)) Is called Virk Fertility centre in Jalandhar punjab.. That is the one i will be going to.. I am currently booking in my tickets for mid sept. BTW my family live in the Punjab, So easier for me.I hope this helps:)

Hi! We were passing de ivf program overseas too. I'd like to know how the process passed for you just in case you know. While looking for effective treatments we switched the clinic once, finally found ourselves in Ukrainian one. Me than - 41 yo, dx: diminished ovarian reserve & poor egg quality. Though it took us 2 shots to achieve pregnancy, we're satisfied with services and care provided. Only positive experience.
