I just told my mom it was a long process before you could start your cycle. That I was waiting for my clinic to call be to get started. My mom know very little about it except what I tell her so that was enough.
The nice thing is that they want to know because they care but it just creates added pressure. Maybe you can Just tell her you'll clue her in when there's development.

An honest approach may work best. Just tell her you would like to take one day at a time and that all the questions cause you stress. My RE told me to cut out as much stress as possible when we were in the middle of our first fresh cycle IVF. Even if it was something as simple as avoiding talking to stressful people on the phone or seeing certain status updates on FB. Every tiny thing you can do for yourself to remain as stress free as possible makes a difference when you are going through an ivf cycle. Another way of wording it would be to simply tell her there is nothing new to tell and that you will fill her in when something new happens. This buys you some time for yourself and places the sharing control closer to you. Unfortunately since they are helping with the cost it does sort of take away a bit of the privacy for you since their money is involved. Your family may feel like they have a right to be in the know For a while though it is nothing but injections and you can tell your mom that and it's an honest answer. You don't have to go into detail about all the blood draws and such if you don't want to. What she doesnt know wont hurt her. If your RE gave you a calendar leading up to the egg retrieval and the transfer hide that thing from her HAHA!! At least thats my gut instinct when you say she is really intrusive. You and your hubby should probably come up with a game plan though for the results of the TWW so feelings arent hurt as to who finds out first or last People can get weird with that sort of thing when its baby news. Make a giant public service announcement NOW to the financially helpful family members about how that is going to go down when you get that all important phone call.

It's great to hear they are helping, but sorry to hear she is being a bit intrusive. I'm sure she is just excited and thinks asking is the right thing to do.

My family/friends all knew we were waiting to do IVF, so now that we are moving ahead they all have questions. I sort of lied about timing in a general way so that I won't have to worry about questions on some dates. I said the timing was up in the air (which is true) and that I won't really know what's going on till it happens. I also was honest with a few people who I know are more intrusive (my dad). I said "to be honest, I may not be in a good place for a while and may just want to hide". And I mentioned that good news isn't a guarantee in the IF world, so we can't just celebrate every BFP 100%. It seems to have done the trick so far.

I started a blog just for friends and family, so I didn't have to keep repeating myself. If they wanted to know how I was feeling, what stage I was at they could read it and it wouldn't have to tire me out.

Also gave me a point of release, somewhere I could consolidate my thoughts.
