Cramps

Hi everyone. I know that there is a support group for pregnancy after infertility and loss, but 1) I am not ready to join that and 2) I don't know all of those girls.

Is it ok if I post this here? I don't want to offend or upset anyone.

I am 5 weeks pregnant after IVF. I experienced a loss last October, also from IVF, as many of you know. I am scared every day.

This being said, even though I know it's normal, I need some reassurance that mild-moderate cramping is ok in early pregnancy. It's not awful or unbearable. some moments its "worse" than other moments, but never SO bad. just there and uncomfortable and scary.

for those who have experienced this, or are experience this, can you please share with me, the crazy lady.

Cramps with no bleeding are very normal during pregnancy and may last up through the second trimester. Your uterus is stretching and growing and many pains come along with that.

The women in the pregnancy after loss group will have much more support and knowledge so you should definitely join. You'll get to know everyone very soon!

Best of luck, it's very scary until you are holding your baby. I wish I could tell you it gets easier but it only get scarier the further along you are.

I know it's hard to join the pregnancy after loss/infertility, but there are really some awesome women on there too who belong to both groups. It took me a while to join it as well, come on over when you're ready!

With that said, mild to moderate cramping is very normal as long as it is not accompanied by bleeding. I had period like cramps almost my whole first trimester, it's very disconcerting. Your uterus is getting is going to start stretching, that also causes the cramping. If they ever get so bad and they are really making you nervous, call your OB!

First of all, you are NOT crazy, I am the exact same way and I feel like I haven't really enjoyed my first trimester because I'm so dang worried from every cramp or poke I feel. I posted in the pregnancy after IF/Loss about this titled "cramping" and I can assure you that it is very normal. I even went in for a scan because of it and the RE said it was probably from constipation and ligament pain from the uterus growing. As long as there's no bleeding, they say that it's normal and not to worry. Obvioulsy WE worry and I think that just comes with the IVF territory, we want it so bad and are just so terrified of something going wrong. If it gets worse, I say call you RE and I'm sure they will reassure you. Best of luck!!!

THANK YOU GIRLS SO MUCH! I feel so much better, after reading your answers. for example, at this moment, I feel almost no cramps at all! In my heart, I know it's ok - but it is such a relief to hear you've all experienced the same and are ok.

I will join the pregnancy after loss forum when I am ready, I promise. Last time, I joined it right away and having to leave it was so hard. I just need some time to feel more confident. Thank you for humoring me here, even though I know it's not the correct forum.
