I did it at 34 to ensure that any extra embryos we had were genetically sound and worth keeping. It slowed down the process but it turned out that only about half my eggs were good, so I found it to be very worth it.

I did it and I don't think it was worth it. My doctor agreed that the embryo that are deemed bad are now producing healthy children for many women. If we ever have to redo ivf, I wouldn't do pgs for free and my doctor agreed. Do more researcher and hope you figure it out.

Thank you all for your advise. Out of the 7 eggs that was retrieved, only 5 is matured but unfortunately only 1 got fertilized. We ended up not doing any pgs as it makes no sense and did the transfer of the embryo at Day2 which is yesterday! Now I’m at the 2ww and hope and pray everything goes well.

Hello. I am in the exact same position I am 41. Just got 16 eggs retrieved. Part of me just want to go for fresh Ivf with the Beat looking embryo and send whatever survives to day 5 to PGS. I know it could be wasted money if fresh ivf takes but it costs a hell more of a lot to raise a baby so in the grande scheme of things money should not be part of the Deciso. Also part of me always believes that it is up to God as to what happens so why not at least roll the dice with fresh. It is such a hard choice. We will know
More on day 2 about the embryos so will make a decision then. I will keep you up to date.

Hi from TMC. I wanted to give you my update. Out of the 16 eggs, 10 fertilized. We figured 4-5 would make it to day 5 so made the decision to do a fresh day 5 IVF and do PGS on the rest. Well, we just hit day 5 and did the fresh IVF of our one blast. Out of the 10 that fertilized, 4 did not make it to today (day 5), we were able to transfer 1 and out of the last 5, 1 should make it to day 6 and the other 4 are a maybe. So with all of that we did succeed with today's transfer but will most likely have 1-3max for PGS tomorrow (at least I hope). Such an emotional process. I have been meditating 2 times a day and doing acupuncture once a week. I will keep you up to date on day 6 results and pregnancy test in on in 2 weeks. Now just waiting and lots of praying.

I truly hope you day 2 transfer works. I will pray for you midnight blue!

That is an awesome news!!! So excited and very happy for you! No doubt the ivf process is indeed so emotional and stressful at times but trying to keep our hopes high and pray for a smooth journey.

I’ve just past 1 week of waiting and still another 6 more days to go before we do the hCg test on Thursday. Crossing my fingers and toes for the pregnancy too and I pray all goes well for you too!!

Just wanted to update on my development post the 2 weeks wait.

Unfortunately it was sad news and my beta HCG test came back negative and low. I’m devastated and very disappointed and sad. This is our first ivf although different options were presented to us but I’m not sure what we will do next or won’t do. Will need some time to myself to get over this disappointment and sadness and will decide after.

Hi midnight_blue, my IVF doctor warned me that without pgs, if the eggs are not abnormal, I would end up having a miscarriage and considering my age and anxiety we didn't want to waste any time so after 6 IVFs when all of my embryos were abnormal except 1, we transferred right before Christmas eve and it failed. We started the adoption process and we are trying naturally but I am considering donor egg process and hope to start the process soon. I am turning 43 in a few months and my GYN told me that I shouldn't wait any longer so should consider donor eggs.
