Hello everyone, I just joined and it's been a long time coming. I'm very happy to be apart of a community of individuals that have been going through the challenge of getting pregnant. My husband and I have been trying for a little over two years, this is our 3rd year. I was diagnosed with pcos about a year or so ago. My husband and I have gone through all the testing possible, we are both healthy and nothing else an issue. My situation is a bit interesting because while my cycles are different every month, I still get a period everytime. So I've never gone months without a period. Through a vaginally ultrasound they can see some small cysts or follicles that matured bUT never left. They checked my hormones a million times and nothing unusual. They said hormone levels are normal. Anyway, it's been a struggle as you all understand. There were talks about clomid and such, I became excited and at the last minute my doctor explained with my age (28) and the fact that I'm getting a period every month she doesn't want to risk me getting triplets. We were recommended to go back to ovulation kits. It felt like such a huge let down again, especially since it was to go back to trying on our own. Trying on our own hasn't worked yet but I have faith (as I try to have every month ) that it can and will. Would love to not feel alone and share the space with others who get it. I am sorry to hear about what you've been going through. It is truly a heartbreaking road to have to travel down. But, you are not going down it alone. There are women here that understand how you feel. I wish that more people talked about infertility problems in everyday life so that when people go through it they dont feel so isolated/defective/etc. Theres a little over 1,000 people in this group and I'm sure there are many many many more people out there going through it that arent talking about it. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant nearly 2 years now, and I just started to feel comfortable about joining this group a couple weeks ago. Its not easy, especially if you dont know anyone else who has gone through it.
Have you seen a fertility specialist yet or just your OB? I feel like my OB was a great place to start but she referred us to 2 different specialists, a male infertility specialist to discuss my husbands sperm analysis results and a female infertility specialist to discuss the more than probable IVF that we'll have to go through. That appt is next week and as the date gets closer the more anxious I get. Knowledge is power. I am an RN and a true believer that if your doctor isnt working for you to find a solution (esp after 2 years) It might not be a bad idea to get a 2nd opinion from another doctor...especially if you've already done the ovulation kits and it hasnt worked for you.
I had a cousin with PCOS and it took a while for her to get pregnant with her first child. then before he was 1 and a half they were already pregnant with #2, so it certainly does happen!!
I'm sorry that you are going through this, but just know you are not alone!!
