I have been TTC for 13 years. Been with a few men in those years with no luck. I have been with my husband now for 4 years and nothing. Never had a BFP. I have had periods a day or two late and it get my hopes way up and take a pg test and get a BFN along with a bloody mess within a day of the test. Last one on Valentine's day. :(
I am tired of people saying they understand when they obviously don't. If you have had kids with ease then don't say you understand.
I went to a couple different OB's and family dr's and no one took me serious when I said I wanted a family. I felt so alone and didn't know what to do. I actually quit going to the OB for close to 5 years because I felt what was the use. They don't care what I have to say and won't take me serious when I do talk.
I recently changed OB and every other Dr I use. When I called to make the app with my OB's office the first thing they asked was the reason for the visit. Of course I needed my regular test, but I also told them I wanted to try and have a family.
On my way in to the OB I called my husband and asked if he could make it to the app because I have anxiety issues around new people. He couldn't because of work.
I was quickly called back to a room and told to wait on the OB. As soon as my new OB walked through the door she said, "I see you want to have a family. How long have you been with your husband? Have you been on birth control? I am going to write you a RX for Clomid. Is there any other concerns or questions you have for me?" Of course there was more talking between each question, but you get the gist. As she was walking out the door she turned to me looked in my eyes and said, " I look forward to delivering your baby in the very near future". She also gave me a collection cup to have my husband's swimmers checked. I have never had anyone actually take the time to take me seriously.
When my husband got home from work I told him what all was said and showed him what all I was given. He was almost in tears and said, "if I had known she was going to do all this I would have left work early even if I got in trouble."
Needless to say we are both excited and don't know if we should have him tested first before we get the Clomid RX filled or if we should just go ahead and get it filled. I can't start it until day 5 of my period so I have some time (around 3/18/15 to be a little more exact).
What is everyone's advice? We have never used this and are extremely new to this.

Funny story, I brought the sample to my OB's office without realizing I was supposed to bring it to the lab and ended up running through most of the hospital with a collection cup smooshed in between my boobs to keep the little guys warm, at the OB nurse's instruction!
I have a very embarrassing question that I am sure I should direct to the lab, but am afraid they will laugh. It says he can't use lube. Does that also mean that we can't have intercourse or oral until he is about to "you know" then collect it? I'm asking because this is the only way he can "you know"...
So glad you had a positive experience with your new OB, my second fertility specialist made all the difference in my baby making journey, it is so nice to finally feel that you are heard!! The ladies pretty much answered your questions already . but I would absolutely get the semen analysis before you try the clomid, the more information the better in this game that is infertility and pre-seed is http://www.fairhavenhealth.com/preseed-external.html is fabulous stuff and no oral or intercourse before the collection, we were always told to abstain for at least 3 days before a collection .. but I am sure if you helped him along with a clean hand, that would be just fine! best of luck!
She is an absolute sweetie.We have his appointment set up now. Once we get his results we are going from there. Trying this month is now out of the question because we couldn't get him in soon enough, but there's always next month. :-)
