My husband and I are going to start trying Clomid in December. I am scared because I heard that it can increase your chances of cancer but,my doctor assures me that the likliness of that happening is very rare. I hope it works for you!!!

I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW WHAT I AM EXPERIENCING BY TAKING CLOMID..I SEEM TO BE HUNGRY ALOT AND I HAVE GAINED LIKE 20 LBS IN 5 MONTHS..I TAKE THE LOWEST DOSE NOW AND THEY ARE GOING TO INCREASE IT THIS MONTH..IM NOT SURE IF ITS WORKING LIKE ITS SUPPOSE TO, I DONT FEEL MUCH OF A DIFFERNECE(OVULATING)BUT HOPEFULLY IT DOES.. I am just about to start my first dose of clomid and find it interesting to hear about these side effects. I am nervous about what will happen. I am already 30 lbs above what weight I want to be at and will just hate if I gain more. I am trying to lose, and the docs say it will help with conception, but why do these meds make us gain wait? Although, I\'m on my 7th day of Provera and still haven\'t started a period, so who knows if I\'ll even need clomid. Frustrating.

I\'m on month #2 of Clomid, and I\'ve found that I\'ve gained weight as well. I think it\'s because it messes with your hormones. I know I have a tendency to want chocolate and chips and stuff really badly when I\'m PMS-ing, which is another hormonal fluctuation. The only side effect that really made me nervous, though, was the possibility of ovarian hyperstimulation. Thankfully, that hasn\'t been an issue, but make sure you\'re informed of the signs and symptoms.

Has anyone had problems with Clomid making cycles even more irregular? Last month on my first month of Clomid I had a 45 day cycle, this month I am at 25 days. I was never regular before but not by that kind of margin!

I\'ve only been on two months so far...However, I can\'t really say that it\'s affected my cycle one way or another, because I am on Provera, which forces me to have a period. You might want to tell your Dr. about the side effects and maybe he/she will be able to put you on something like it.

I had many rounds of Clomid while trying to conceive, and yes, I heard/read the same things. You are overstimulating your ovaries, and it is stressful on your reproductive system. You need to be your own advocate during this process. Read everything you can, and write down all your questions, and don\'t leave your doctor\'s office until you feel you have sufficient information. (I was lucky enough to have a wonderful OB, who took all the time I needed to walk me through every step. She did not recommend going through more than 3 cycles of Clomid.
Her opinion was if it didn\'t work in 3 cycles, it was time to add something else to the equation, like IUI, etc.)
I didn\'t have any side effects while taking it, so short term it was no problem at all.

I took Clomid for 2 months. I had no side effects at all except a little bloating. It did allow me to produce more eggs (from the normal 1 egg to about 5 or 6 eggs), however, it didn't work for us. However, we have since discovered that our infertility is due to my husband's sperm motility. So, I definitely would try it

I started Clomid last month. Shortly there after, I thought that I would eat us out of house and home. I think that even the cat got nervous from all of the strange cravings I got. Then, well, being on the low dose, I found out that I didn't ovulate. Now, I have to start over again with the provera and then a higher dose of clomid. So, here is my question: How many women are really seeing positive results from this drug? And are they having to use combination drug therapies, because my MD thinks that is what we are looking at next.

I tried six cycles with clomid and got pregnant twice. They resulted in miscarragies, but I do not beleive that had anything to do with the clomid. Most doctors start with clomid because it is the cheapest method. Good luck! I hope you are one of the lucky ones that gets pregnant on the first try!

I took Clomid for 6 months and didn't conceive - made me completely crazy though! Well crazier than normal!

Did however conceive first cycle after finishing the treatment, so maybe it did work....

I was put on clomid due to getting my period every 4 months or so. The first month my cycle was 40 days, the 2nd round, no period at all, the 3rd round (150 mg)34 days. I am also charting my temp. and it shows that my body is not responding. I have found that I gained some weight, get hot flashes, extra hungry and miserable at times, but they are just for a short time and the outcome, if successful will be well worth it!!!!! I just feel frustrated and alone at times. People who don't suffer from infertility just say the wrong things!!!

Clomid worked for me for 2 out 3 months. I am now on my 4th cycle. It worked the 1st month, not the 2nd, then it worked for the 3rd (which was last month). I did not conceive on the 1st month - then for the 3rd month my husband was in an accident about 2 days before I ovulated...so we just had to mark out last month. I have very high hopes for this month. I don't have too many side effects except for a little weight gain and being moody. I would for sure have to say it worked as far as getting me to ovulate and getting a good progesterone level test. If no preg. this month - then I will have to have a HSG test, then IUI. I would recommend it - I hear it works most of the time.

I have used clomid for five or maybe six cycles (really can't recall right now). It has worked to induce ovulation. I have conceived twice while on it, and miscarried both. Although I don't think Clomid had anything to do with the pregnancy not sticking. I just had a laparoscopy done, and I believe we'll be trying a few more clomid cycles (maybe with IUI due to DH's low sperm count). I've not had much trouble with side effects. It does make me dizzy, but taking it at night eliminates that problem, because I sleep through the dizzy part. It also makes me feel more emotional and increases my appetite, but nothing that we can't deal with easily. For anyone wanting to try it, I'd recommend taking EPO (evening of primrose oil) up till the day of ovualtion, as EPO increases the production of "sperm-friendly mucous" and clomid can dry that up. Also, I'd recommend taking the Clomid at night, so that if it DOES make you dizzy, you're just sleeping through that time frame anyway.
