Hey all, just need to vent and ask for others' experience....my husband and I have been trying for almost a year. We did some tests and discovered that I wasn't ovulating. I was put on 50 mg clomid but had no response. The next cycle, I was put on 100mg and actually did ovulate...alas no conception. So this time around I am on 100mg again and although the day 10 oestrogen levels are good, on my scan, there appears to be two follicles pressed up against each other...My colleague who is a sonographer said that this is called a daughter cyst and that it will probably become dominant and that I will ovulate this cycle. My fertility doc isn't convinced but says to try anyway...and then in an offhand way says that my ovaries have the classic appearance of PCOS...whilst very quickly ushering me out the door!! I have never been diagnosed with PCOS...and this is the first time it has been mentioned. I am really upset at the way this has just been sprung on me and really wish I could go to another service but I live in a smallish city in a very small country and the only other option is to travel to another city for treatment which would be really disruptive...my husband is a doctor and I have access to ultrasound on a daily basis and were are very tempted just to take the clomid and monitor my follicles ourselves....but if we end up needing IVF, then we will have to go back these fertility specialists with our tail between our legs....
So I guess I have a few questions.....firstly, has anyone else ever had the small double follicle thing?? And secondly, what would you do about the fertility specialists?? I figure that if I am not happy with the way I am being treated, then the actual treatment is less likely to work (if that makes sense) as it is stressing me out having to see them.i guess I don't seem to have much faith in them, which really isn't going to help my cause. Any advice or experience greatly appreciated!
