Hey DS Gals,
I need your help...

I just had my second IVF and I'm saddened to say that it ended in a chemical pregnancy. I'm taking this hard and wondering if I will ever be blessed with a baby. However, part of my grieving and coping relies on the knowing the next step. We are lucky to have 10 frozen embryos and we will be having a FET next. When should I move on to do this? What can I expect? What was your experience like? Can you ladies help me out? Any advice I truly appreciate...

I'm so sorry about your cycle :( however, its great news that you have that many frozens! That is awesome. I'm not sure how long after a chemical pregnancy you should wait before starting but I assume your HCG levels will have to fall and maybe wait 1 cycle. I had a negative IVF cycle and then I did a frozen transfer and got a BFP (its still early and I am cautiously optimistic) so it is possible. The FET cycles are A LOT easier on your body and mind. You only have to go in a total of 3 times to check your lining and then you have your transfer. The meds involved are WAY easier too. You basically take estrogen (in the form of a pill or injection) for 2-weeks or so and you start progesterone 6 days before your transfer. For me, it was a lot easier to deal with because I wasn't obsessing over whether or not my follicles were growing, whether I was doing the injections correctly, how many eggs are retrieved, do they fertilize, etc. Good Luck

I am so sorry about the chemical pregnancy...

I am also looking at doing a FET cycle after I lost my baby at 12wks... I'm seeing the nurses at the clinic next week to find out exactly what it entails, but I have been told that it is actually a lot easier than a fresh cycle.

I had a chemical pregnancy after my 1 IVF cycle and I just did frozen embryo transfer on Tuesday. They took my blood and once it was around 1 they told me that I am OK. I then had a doctor appointment a week latter to talk about what went wrong and after that I started preparing for my frozen embryo transfer. I think in total it took 30 days (from the moment I started Lupron injections) to a transfer. It much easer on the body and I really hope it will work! Sending lot of baby dust to you!!!

I am so sorry. I am not sure how long you should wait. I would think about 2 cycles or until your body is back to a regular pattern. Your doctor may be able to give you a better idea. I know they will want your hCG to be down.

We have not done our FET yet but I do know it is easier on the body than a fresh IVF cycle. I will keep you in my prayers.
