O.k so DH was researching last night about unexplained IF. We are thinking to go for a final IVF try and we are both desperate to give this one the best chance we possibly can... He found that researchers from the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology, Brigham and Women's Hospital found that
''Together with prior animal studies, the data support the negative influences of BPA on cell cycle progression, spindle architecture and chromosome organization during oocyte maturation. Furthermore, the increased rates of abnormal maturation in oocytes exposed to BPA may be relevant to our understanding of the decrease in fertility reported in the last decades.''
I followed this up today by looking at some medical journals on my university's data base as well as the article and I am amazed at the amount of evidence out there! (even though many of the studies admit they are still not sure of its full effects on Humans).
Since I have tried everything else and I have nothing left to loose I thought WHAT THE HECK! So this afternoon we drove down to the shopping centre and spent about $200.00 on glass containers with BPA free lids (I can then separate for washing reheating etc. to minimise transfer). we then came home and binned anything that had been in BPA plastic and transferred everything else out of plastic containers or wrappers into the new glass stuff (including milk)
Cans also seem to have a 'plastic lining'which leaches into your food, so out they went!
Plastic containers labelled 3, 6 or 7 are the worse (it is in a triangle usually at the bottom). so please avoid them at all costs!
Just thought I would share in case anyone else may like to give this a go.
