Bloody doctors!!!!

My IVF doctor is refusing to do blood tests after my miscarriage!

He reckons that they are for people who have had multiple miscarriages! I am so angry! I mean they are waiting for me to loose another baby before they investigate! some of the tests are for things which are really treatable with folic acid and baby aspirin, but to him its more important that he is right rather than bending just a little for me and putting my mind at ease...

I am supposed to go for transfer next week and I completely stressed out about it, I mean what if I get pregnant from the FET only to loose the baby again.

Doctors are total BASTARDS!!!!

Sounds to me like you should find yourself another Dr. I am reading this book called "Infertility Survival Guide", and the author discusses what to look for and types of questions to ask when interviewing RE's. There is nothing more important than having a Dr. you trust and believe in. I don't quite know how the medical system works in the U.S. (I'm in Canada), but I think that if you want blood tests done, the Dr. can't refuse you. If he wants your money for the FET, then he'd better get those tests done - but that's just my opinion.

I am also sorry for your loss and the extra stress this is putting on you. Stress is not a good thing when you're TTC. Good luck with everything.

I was in the same boat. I had begged to do b/w and take tissue samples when they did the D&E post m/c and they refused. My DH and I were willing to pay out of pocket for the testing and they still refused b/c it was our first miscarriage on record although in my heart and looking back I am sure I have had other m/c just early on where I could explain them away. I hope you are able to get some answers and I am so sorry for your loss.

Lina darling, if you are not comfortable with this put your foot down!!!! Postpone the transfer by a month if you have too, but don't let him brow beat you.
Insist he does the tests or find a Dr. (if there's another one around you) that will. I know you probably don't want to delay the transfer, but if it doesn't work don't have the "what if's" in the back of your mind!
