Anyway, I apologize for ranting on. I just have a lot of feelings. But I think this is a good outlet for me and I am grateful there is an online support group. I appreciate your support. Thank you.
My husband wanted to wait till he was out of the police academy before we started to try to get pregnant. We thought that would be the mature, grown up decision to make so that we would be able to focus on our little one. But nothing has happened for us. I, too, came off the pill for well over a year but was not "trying". I was thinking maybe this would give my body time to reset. Then we officially start trying, and NOTHING! I just turned 40 and time is not on my side. I feel so sad all the time while trying to hide it from my friends and family. Feels like I live a double life.
Just know you can be honest here and let your feelings out. This is the ONLY place I feel I can do this, rant on I mean. It helps ;)
It will happen, we are just on the longer path to conception. IT SUCKS! You definitely have plenty of people to lean on here!!! Good luck to you!
I'm sitting here as an IF survivor now.... I actually made my first post here like 8 years ago this week after ttc for 5 years. I found so much support here and just women who "get it".....many of us are still in contact. Some of us were reminiscing about this group, so I stopped in. I wish I could have told myself so many things back then about how it would all work out. I hope you can take heart in knowing that most of us did end up becoming moms one way or another and are stronger for it....we gained a good deal of battle wounds along the way though. It can be a hard and painful road and that never really leaves you.
But know that your feelings are valid and normal and they do suck. Be kind to yourself and support each other.
@BHAlwaysTrying21: Yes, all my labs so far have come back normal which is a blessing but also frustrating. If everything is normal, why have I not been able to get pregnant after 3 years of no prevention? I am ashamed to say that I was hoping something would come back on my results because then it would at least explain what is going on. My husband's SA was also normal with the exception of his morphology but since his numbers were so good, the doctor wasn't concerned at all. The first RE specialist I met with wanted to start me on Clomid right away but I am hesitant because I really don't believe this title of "unexplained infertility" and I want answers. She was not open to doing further testing of my thyroid or even my progesterone which I thought was weird. I sought a second opinion from a doctor with more natural methods. He sent me for more labs which I am waiting to do this Friday. He said if all those labs come back normal, then there is a likely chance I have asymptomatic endometriosis which, according to him, is the cause of many women's infertility who are otherwise healthy. The crappy part is, the only way to diagnose and remove it is with laparoscopy which I am kind of terrified of because I've never had any kind of surgery before. But he assured me it's his specialty so if all these additional labs come back normal, I am planning on moving forward with the procedure. If that is normal, I think I will move forward with the Clomid but I am really trying to do this is as natural as possible so I really hope it doesn't get to that point.
@ready4babie: I can imagine your husband not being open to getting tested must be frustrating. My husband was obviously a little embarrassed to do the test but ultimately he knew he had to just to rule it out. It might help to reassure your husband that it's most likely not him but if it is, it's not his fault and it's an easy and inexpensive fix (unless he's sterile of course). I understand why he would be hurt but explain to him that no matter what, it wont make you see him any differently or make him less of a man. Explain how important it is to you and that you need it just for peace of mind. I know it's easier said than done, but I will be praying for you friend!
