The u/s picked up lots of follicles and one BIG one...1.9cm. My RE called me this morning after he saw the results of the u/s and said that I could 1)take a shot (forgot what it was called..seemed similar to my dye test HSG, it was and HS something) to trigger ovulation or 2) continue with the ovulation kit (peeing on strips) to detect the LH surge. I have done the oulation kits many times in the past and the surge always seems to pick up on the 14th-16th day and I have AF like clockwork. Will this shot he is speaking of be more beneficial? Just wanted to see what you guys think.

If you get the hCG injection, you will ovulate within 24-48 hours. If you ovulate on your own, you probably don't need it unless you want to ovulate a bit earlier. Good luck!

The shot I just found out is HCG. Also, wanted you guys to comment on what you think about the big follicle. There were about 3 others that she measured but the big one is the one I actually asked the size because I had never seen one that big on the MANY u/s I have done.

19 mm is a good size. At my clinic, they like to see the follicles at least 18 mm before giving hCG. Mine are usually between 18 and 24 on my day 13 ultrasound.

Thanks, Carrie (guess I was off on the cm part) My RE told me that if it was over 16mm, that was good so I had a feeling that ONE was good enough to drop. I'm still contemplating just getting the trigger shot to insure ovulation. But then again if I wait it out, it should probably pick up that surge in the next couple of days anyway. Thanks so much for your advice! Take care:)

Just wanted to add that you were correct by saying 1.9 cm; that is the same as 19 mm. I'm just used to using mm. The first month we did Clomid, I got the hCG injection just to bring on ovulation sooner, not realizing yet, that I had stopped ovulation on my own. Now I get it every month. Sending prayers and lots of baby dust your way!!!

One more thing I am worried about is that mabye the follicle could get a bit bigger if I don't do the shot...what do you think? I'm torn...I just told my DH that this could be the month the prediction kit does not pick up the surge!

If you're wanting it to get bigger, that's not really necessary. Bigger isn't necessarily better. As long as it's within the recommended size, which yours is, then it's all good. If you do get the trigger, your follicle will continue to grow until ovuation anyway. If getting the hCG trigger will ease your mind, it might be a good idea.
