becoming obsessed

Hey everyone. About a year ago I had both my tubes removed due to the fact my doctors said they were blocked. I am obsessed with pregnancy. I sit in front of my computer and research....google, yahoo, ask., etc... My computer is my worst friend sometimes. I've read on some support sites that people have gotten pregnant naturally with no fallopian tubes (which gives me hope) I am looking into in vitro but financially that's not an option right now. I really want a baby more so than anything else but I don't want this desire to overcome me. I can;t help but wonder all the possibilities. I try to remain positive but I keep thinking "What if I pay for IVF and it doesn't work" "What if I didn't allow my doctors to remove my tubes" So I am posting this looking for some words of encouragement, advice, or maybe just someone who can relate.

in this game you really have to take it one day at a time because really it is a game of chance as any lady here who has gone through it will attest to IVF does not always work sometimes it works the first try... you have to stay strong and keep hope because once you lose those it makes it really hard to get through this... I hope that things go well for you and anytime you need advice this is an awsome place to be..

I know it's a pretty big price tag, but if you have ATTAIN or a similar IVF "package" plan, you can somewhat prepare for it. I think they have one plan that's $26,000 (paid in installments), and you get 3 fresh tries and 3 frozen. If none of them result in you bringing home a baby, they refund 70% if you used your own eggs and 100% if you used donors. They have another plan which, in my state, is $18,000 for two fresh and two frozen (but no refund). It's rather a whallop to look at those prices, but for the "guarantee", so to speak, it might be worth it for some people. I don't know if that helps at all.

obsessed? me? ok, yes I am. totally obsessed. I'm having my second tube removed on October 5th, and then it will be IVF or nothing for us - same as you.

Sure, someone out there got pregnant without tubes, but maybe the doc didn't seal it up all the way either.

Agree with cidekmat. I'm like straight out of the muscial RENT, I live "day by to-day" meaning that I think: how am i feeling today? And try to deal with those emotions (or in my case those pains, I have endometriosis and cannot be on pain meds if I'm trying to conceive).

I read your other post, sounds like we may start around the same time with the IVF. When does your husband get back? I'll probably start taking the BC in October, and I think that means my first IVF harvest and implantation will be November or December. Ugh, I'm still learning.

Today was going to be the day I was not going to go on this site. oh well. I feel I need to be on here, to be connected to others on this. It's scary and it's nice to see that we are in this journey together.
